Origenes's blog

Hi Codeforces,

I received the email of the 43rd Petrozavodsk Programming Camp a few days ago and today I heard some of my friends are facing difficulties paying the registration fee due to government sanctions. I would like to know if there are any workarounds for this as I expect competitive programmers based in many countries would experience this problem.

Thanks!

Hi Codeforces,

I would like to send something to MikeMirzayanov via the "talks" feature but I end up with something like this but I do not believe MikeMirzayanov is inactive. Have anyone of you encountered like before and how did you resolve this?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Codeforces,

I know there have been some posts regarding the registration procedure on Codeforces already, but still I am not clear with how could a new team join opencup trainings.

Here are questions:

  1. It is a "multisite" contest, which means the registration is only for trusted people (well-known competitive programmers or university coaches). But are there any limitations for creating new sectors? I would like to know if each university could have their own sector or there could only be at most one sector per city.

  2. Which organisation is in charge of this? It seems that snarknews is in charge of everything here but it appears to be that he is no longer checking codeforces messages frequently. Has anyone successfully registered recently from a new university? If so, would you like to share how you did it?

  3. Is there an English version of the website?

Thanks for your help.

Hi CF,

Around 2 mos ago, I read about this proposal under johnchen902's comment. Now I find the PSP Final appears on the list of PSP contest for 2019. But still I have some doubts around it.

  1. Does it mean it is confirmed?
  2. How does the qualification work? Is it more like NEERC where all the WF slots are generated from this particular contest or more like China where the final is just another regional? (I don't really know how things work in those two regions so correct me if I am wrong.)
  3. Is this a regional counting towards the annual participation limit (currently two)?
  4. Where would it be held? According to the blog VNU was proposing it but under icpc regional finder, the contact info is UCSY's?

If any of you know something or have heard of some other rumours, I would be very happy if you could share about them. Thanks.
