Hello, Codeforces.

We live in difficult times. And, unfortunately, our community is highly dependent on world events around us. Three years ago, it seemed easy to send a t-shirt anywhere in the world. Now it's a quest with many unknowns. Just a few months ago, it was not difficult to send a reward to the problem writer. But now, we are cut off from the outside world and regulated by multiple new laws.

And here it is very important not to lose, not to break what has already been done. Don't stand still, move forward. I am very glad and grateful to the problem writers and coordinators that in March we managed to hold 10 ratings (we held 9, come to participate in the tenth). Thanks to everyone who took part in the preparation!

And I want to share another great news. Our friends NEAR has come up with the initiative to support the community during this difficult time. We are pleased to announce that the upcoming rounds will be funded by NEAR, which will help with the payment of rewards to problem writers and coordinators. This is a timely and important help. Thanks!

It will be easier and faster for us if the problem writers or coordinators have the opportunity to accept a reward in the form of a cryptocurrency transfer. In this case, we are ready to transfer 25% more and make the transfer much faster. Oh, it's a pity we can't send t-shirts with crypto.

And I remind you that the next round (and Codeforces Round #780 (Div. 3)) is waiting for you) will take place very soon, on Mar/31/2022 17:35 (Moscow time). I hope to see you among the participants.

— Mike

I haven't received the codeforces t-shirts since 2018, but still, keep one in 2014 as a problem setter. :(

I could completely understand the status quo, as it has become increasingly difficult to receive deliveries in other parts of the world as well since covid-19.

Btw, as a community, I think we could help each other, how about producing these peripheral products directly in the local regions? By choosing a trusted node in each continent, the cost of production and transportation will be reduced significantly, just work as a cryptocurrency network but for t-shirts.

I don't think producing 100 T-shirts in 10 factories costs the same as making 100 T-shirts on one production line.

In my mind, it will make the cost much higher.

It seems like an optimization problem when transportation cost becomes a bottleneck.

Just realized that cp t-shirts was kinda NFT: limited piece of fabric with paint which theoretically you can create by yourself

You can't send t-shirts as a crypto, but you can send NFT of a t-shirt... or even NTF of pants! And NEAR Protocol does support this, so why not to try?

Is it possible to receive the NEAR prices to an existing wallet, or do you need to create a new one every time you win something?

Hi. As I understand this time you need to create new. After it you can transfer it to your main wallet. If such rounds become regular, then, of course, the process will be improved.

So I guess I created account for my nickname with the old public key from my previous account, but hashing changes for every round (I guess?) and therefore I don't know the passphrase lol. Can I recover it since it has my nickname? :D

Did you ever figure this out? I have two near wallets, and I cannot access the first one. I tried contacting near, but the only thing I learned is that I needed to contact near-crowd instead, and I don't know how to contact them.

Nope, I guess the only way is to sincerely ask some near staff, which I didn't do since they probably won't respond.
