As per televisions and news agencies there has been a catastrophic earthquake and a resulting tsunami in Japan. We express deep sympathy to the affected people of Japan and nearby countries and hope situation will improve as soon as possible.

In Codeforces we have many coder friends from Japan. Are you all guys OK? Share your experiences, feelings with us if you can. Thanks.

It is because he had written an opinion, and many of CF participants did not agree with him. And you are a silly 5-year old troll

The coast side is like a hell... In some cities with a population of 5000-25000 each, the most part is under muddy water...

I live in Canada now but my family live in Kurihara, which is very close to the center of the earthquake. My mother sent a message to me after two hours of the earthquake. It said just "Alive. Devastated." I was relieved to hear that but I have not got in touch with her since then. Now the power is down in the large area, so probably she wouldn't be able to send another message.

As far as seeing a timeline on Twitter, most of Japanese Codeforcians seem OK but some of them who live in Sendai don't appear. I'm really worried about what they are going on.

My friend in Japan says that Japanese TV stations have been playing the same video repeatedly, so even Japanese can't know about actual situations of damage. Of course, I can't get any information of my hometown.

I am also worried that many big aftershocks still occur, the fact is not reported in Canada, although. It is very strange and horrible that some of them occur at different places. Moreover, as you may know, nuclear electric plants have a risk of meltdown.

I can't do anything now, but I hope the damage would be less and residents in Japan should be OK.

We here in Egypt are going to go Liberation/Tahrir Square and other Squares in different cities and pray for them on Friday if Allah wills.

I'm praying for them, they are in a horrible disaster! :(
I felt sympathy to them when I saw these pictures: http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/03/earthquake-in-japan/100022/

Is there any where so that we can support the Japanese?
