how to register in the next contest

First to know the registration start time you can click on CONTESTS on the menu 
then you will find registration button appear on the time of registration.
click on it and confirm.
about the contest wait until the contest is start and enter you will find problems click on the problem you want to solve and on the right side you can choose your language and upload your code.

    i have just created profile on codeforces...why i m not able to see the register button for "GOODBYE 2014 Div 2" contest????

      It appears about 18-24 hours before the contest and registration ends 5 mins before the contest starts.Welcome to the CF community :)

Just click on the contests name on the right sidebar (in the Pay attention dialog) box.
If u r unrated then or your ratings is below 1650 then you can go only for div 2 round
There you  will find the register button .Click on it and you are registered
As far as the next question goes i think you are asking about the format of your code..If that is the case then what is the language you are using??
