As for me, I'm trying to practice more. And, of course, learning algos is really important. In deed I am just blue, so it would be interesting for me to read what would yellow or red people say :D

Rating is not very important imho. Solve problems to improve your sport programming skills, and then ratings also.

thanks guys....... so if we solve problem set questions won't that increase the ratings. or if we code well in the contests will it increase the ratings. Just want to know.By the way this ratings is  nice because it  give's some motivation.. :)

No Your rating increases or decreases only by solving problems at the contest, not from the problem set. You can easily see the solutions of other coders of the problems in the problem set;then whats the point of increasing ratings by solving them. They are for practise :)

Start with Div-4 or Div-3 (virtual or online). If you can handle the first problem, move on to the next one, and keep going. Once you are good at A, B, C in Div-3, move up to Div-2 and try

  1. open a problem or start virtual participation

  2. try to solve something, upsolve afterwards, read the editorials when you can't solve it

  3. rinse and repeat

Oh you may also need to enable tags in the setting-- which says "Show tags for unsolved problems". You can find it on the sidebar of the problemset page:)

First stop comparing yourself to others. You can't compare someone's last week to your first week. only focus on your concepts and practice as much as you can.Ratings will automatically increase.

I hate it when people say stop comparing yourself to others. It is called "competitive" programming...
