Negative Contribution!

Can anyone please tell me why is my contribution is getting negative? I didn't post anything offensive or commented negatively anywhere, then why is it happening?

And yes, I know my contribution is going to be more negative after posting this, but I don't really care about it. Just want to know, why?

Look at your comments, you have -7 & -11 The reason is that some people don't take it seriously and down vote others as if it was some game or competition!

Some members were rude to me: They got ++ and I received -------- even though I didn't mock them in return or even reply impolitely :(

Don't care about the contribution. It is a very very rough estimation of the actual contribution. For example, a game is going on here where people are getting alternate upvotes and downvotes and the question asked on the blog has been mocked.

    His last visit to Codeforces was 5 months ago, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about contribution right now :P

Sorry for necroposting. I think the contribution gets recalculated over time, like you'll have same number of upvotes but aggregate contribution decreases over time. There may be some economical reason behind that. Mine was +58 yesterday but now it stands on 44. Remember when Errichto had 210+ contribution but now it is 180 and he didn't get downvotes to reach there it was just recalculated.
