Excuse me...

Some few days I saw VK Cup: Qualification Round 1. Well, let me tell you, it's disappeared -.-

Look what those Russians did, hide the contests from us. Well...they are too scared for more people like Edward Snowden I guess! But when you switch to russian, let me tell you, the Qualification Round 1 shows up!

Can somebody tell me what's the point of this? And if it's a glitch, that's fine with me...

I want justice for all the people of Codeforces!

Thank you!

Edit: I'd like all of you that downvoted to explain to me your rationale. I'm not offended, but I'm just curious as to why there are so many negative reactions to this. Yes, I understand that I am indirectly attacking Russians, but if you think about it, is it really just to hide such a contest from the non-Russian side of Codeforces? How many good reasons can you think about for this? And I'd simply just like to ask you to consider what I've said, and pose an argument of your own if you'd like to contradict it. I am just pointing out an imbalance of society, whether just or not.

And what's the point in contests where only Indians are eligible to win prizes? They are hiding prizes from us! So unfair!

Well I believe it's not easy to translate Russian statements to English. If it's like Round 1 or 2 I think more people will stay concerned, but I will just say meh okay for Qualification round.

They give prizes to Russians only because VK is a tech company seeking talented engineers mainly from Russia. Furthermore, it is a large hassle to organise international competitors to come to their onsite finals.

Saying this is discrimination is like a female actress complaining that it is sexist for a movie director to only want a man to play the role of a man. It's not sexist because it is fair and reasonable to choose a man over a woman to play a male role, don't you think? This is the same thing here. It is reasonable for them to only give prizes to Russians, because they only wish to appeal to Russian engineers. However, CodeForces will organise div1/div2 rounds for us anyway, which is already very very kind and we appreciate it greatly.

However, finally, to conclude, I want to make clear that I don't endorse discrimination in any form. I am simply explaining why this isn't discrimination and guessing the reason (I am not sure of the real reason) for Russian-only prizes. The reason you are downvoted, is because you are comparing something completely acceptable in a facetious manner to something which is extremely serious (racism, Edward Snowden case). This is rude to those who are actually suffering from real racism, who really deserve our support and help.

Why a Russian site cannot set up a Russian Contest?
