I thought that's because Pyongyang Regional staffs didn't send the results to ICPC Asia officials before the WF advancers were called.

Also I don't understand what happened on the final standings of Pyongyang regional, even though I can read some Korean.

I always welcome both "Korean" students participating in programming contests, as long as they don't cheat or take part in individual contests as a team (I'm sad the particular one coder says every North Korean coder is cheater and they mustn't come to AtCoder).

Right. This is the exact fact — But I strongly believe that those events were happened because of the difficulties for going to US, regarding the fact that 1. It is Trump administration, so they are unlikely to get visas. / 2. They are heavily backed by their government.

This also matches some infos spoken by NK defector, who said that the Party is withdrawing some international contest participation these days. This lacks citation, so believe it or not.

Also I don't understand what happened on the final standings of Pyongyang regional, even though I can read some Korean.

What happened? Accessing North Korean website is banned in Korea, by the National Security Act. So I'm actually unable to say something about it.. I remember you were a good Korean speaker :D

every North Korean coder is cheater and they mustn't come to AtCoder

I really hate cheating, but yeah it is clearly a discrimination. Sad that such thing happened.

There're several Kim Il Sung University teams that performed better than the top team of Kimchaek UT. However, every Kim Il Sung Univ. team's place is written _*-th_ and Kimchaek is placed 1st.

Also, this is the news about the competition, South Korean source. Link

Lol, imagine Nork team entering USA and immediately getting deported.

Accessing North Korean website is banned in Korea [...] So I'm actually unable to say something about it..

There are easy solutions to that.

Well, our country has a proud world first record of arresting someone by "retweeting". by National Security Act.

            So, when I said

You also had a president controlled by a cult leader.

You could simply say you heard about it from a friend who heard about it from a friend, that means you don't admit to visiting NK websites.

I believe I did this two years ago, so here we go again...

1. SPb SU Three members, all have been Legendary Grandmaster at some point in time. That's what I call a solid foundation, and that's exactly what you need to reach the top in this contest.

2. University of Warsaw Winning CERC is in its own no small feat, and with an all red team it's without question that these guys will be fighting for gold. Though they don't seem to be in 100% perfect shape, and that will be the reason they're not winning.

3. Tsinghua University On paper, I'd say that this is the strongest team. And I think they'll take the lead for the first 3h with an amazing speed. But somehow I feel that the last hour will fail them and Tsinghua's curse (wait for victory) will continue.

4. KTH The team confidently won NWERC solving all problems, and simonlindholm has qualified to and performed well in GCJ/DGCJ and FBH finals over the last 2 years. And last week's GCJ Round 2 results with two members top 10 (#1 and #8) shows that they're in shape. This is Sweden's golden generation, if they don't win gold now then it won't happen for the next 5-10 years. So it's almost now or never for Sweden and maybe even for NWERC as a whole.

5. ITMO Yet another Russian team having members all with solid rating, but they seem to lack a striker, that single person who can perform wonders when under pressure. But they are sure to make up for it through sheer team work, and the history of ITMO wouldn't have us believe otherwise.

6. Seoul National University Three amazingly strong individuals, but how is their team work? Well team work aside, ainta's hunger alone will take them this far.

7. Shanghai Jiao Tong University A throughout strong team no doubt, but the one thing that will place them above equally strong teams is Shanghai Jiao Tong's tradition and ability to perform at its best when it matters the most.

8. University of New South Wales I don't know why, I just have a feeling that JoeyWheeler will perform wonders. :)

9. MIT Strong members who all seem to compete sparsely on CF but still perform suprisingly well, are they perhaps saving their best for the finals?

10. Sharif University of Technology In comparsion to other teams in this final, they may not come across as very impressive. And sure I believe they'll be outside top 12 until the last hour, but then experience and stellar team work will pay off, and they'll solve at least 2 additional problems and claim a medal.

11. University of Waterloo This team has the ability to go far (with a fresh Legendary Grandmaster and all), but somehow I feel they're just not hungry enough and the last hour will not be in their favor.

12. University of Helsinki This team managed to do what many thought would be impossible, they beat Omogen Heap (the KTH team) in NCPC 2016, a contest that has been absolutely dominated by Omogen Heap over the last years. And their performance in NWERC was solid, solid enough to make me believe that they can snatch a bronze medal.

13. University of Tokyo :'( The team will open up well and be top 4 after 2h. But bad luck will strike and as many times before UTokyo will end up just outside the medal spots.

Honourable mentions: MIPT and Perm SU Sorry guys, the luck won't be on your side on Wednesday. :P There's no particular reason why these two teams wouldn't be up their fighting for gold/silver, I guess I just wanted some more diversity in my top 12 predictions. ^^

It's also the 'golden generation' for Australia (though they have next year too if they don't succeed this year). Besides JoeyWheeler, don't forget xxTastyHypeBeast666xx got 5th at IOI and AntiForest was one place off gold. Abyss's and antiforest's cf ratings are just deceptively low because they're sane and decide to sleep at nighttime ;)
