Is codeforces email system down?

My friend is trying to register codeforces site to participate on his first contest..

However, he couldn't get confirmation email. (even with several retry)

To check, I tried to reset my password but I couldn't get any email too.

Is codeforces mail system down? or it's just happening to us?

Reading the title in Recent Actions, I thought "What? Codeforces is giving us email accounts?"

Yeah, some of my friends have encountered similar issues, I sent PM to Mike but it's still unread. Any chance it is going to be resolved before the contest?

Yesterday it worked fine (I got contest reminder e-mail) but now it didn't let me reset my password. Maybe your friend can try to register via gmail or facebook?

    Tried but cannot use both methods. It just gives some error message that we cannot use the method for now
