This is regarding codeforces round #444 where in a blog regarding the contest was hugely down voted owing to the content of the questions and mistakes in explanation of the question. Yes, some mistakes occurred on their part but what we need to realize here is that question making is not an easy art. It takes weeks, sometimes even months to think about a nice question and twisting it to make it practical. I can assure that Dennison and their team worked their asses off to make this contest and the codeforces community ripping them off in sometimes the most distasteful way is really heart-wrenching.

Dennison is now LAST on the list of contributors and this is such a sorry sight.

These guys have made the contest just for you guys. I hope from now on, the codeforces community would be a little more kind towards the people contributing to this site.

Also I feel that the codeforces community is like a small world of its own. So when one falls, there should be many to help him during his hard time. I have experienced it and i hope that this will continue to happen :)

It's also discouraging. I thought about doing some writer of some codeforces round (because I already did some atcoder rounds writer), but for this I can't get courage of doing writer. Why codeforces community wants to do this?

Yeah its very discouraging. Errors do happen, thats the human nature. But it depends how we showcase the error to the author. The author is not going to gain anything from conducting these contests. We the community are going to get benefited from participating in the contest. We must help people at their hardtimes and not demotivate them.

We the community are going to get benefited from participating in the contest.

How exactly do you benefit from a shitty contest? You don't have fun, you don't change rating. And you waste 2h of your time and possibly something you had to resign from to take part.

I didn't look at #444 problems, so I don't know if it's the case here. But I don't see downvotes at every round that is unrated or has small mistakes. I don't downvote contest announcements, but I can understand people who do.

Taking effort is not enough. Even if you spent some time on something, the outcome may still be bad. In such case wasting others' time is not the way to go. People will not praise you for trying, but for actually doing something.
