Can it happen that big tech giant like google can also cancel their hired interns internships due to recession or large community spreads of pandemic or can they be allowed to work from home.Your views on this also have someone heard such type of things happening for big tech giants in 2008

      Seriously, it depends on the specific position and especially on how much of a rigid corporate culture the company has (I gathered that Google, for example, has one even though a lot of people might not think so). If it's a hypothetical question, it doesn't matter, and if it isn't, the best advice is to ask them directly. Companies have people working from home too, which is risky with a new intern.
