Publicly mentioning the source is not a good idea. Send an email to Codechef instead.

Codechef long challenge is all about in how many cases can you split the question and solve each case specifically , keeping in mind some special cases. Or about finding some weird pattern. I have participated in many long challenges over the four years and found that it is not helpful for learning algorithms, at max I have learnt some modulo arithmetics in codechef. On the other hands just over two months of doing contest on codeforces I have learnt a lot (comparatively). On codechef long challenge we easily waste a lot of time learning less but if that time is utilised properly on codeforces it will be more productive.

What CodeChef have you been participating in? Every time I have participated I have needed to do a lot of googling for some obscure hard algorithm. :D

Anyway I have found that life becomes very dull and unenjoyable if you try to expect some "productivity" from your hobbies. A contest is a "waste of time" if and only if you did not enjoy it. If I like the contest, I'll participate again, otherwise not.

I use to participate in www.codechef.com. Maybe I haven't reached those problems which requires obscure hard algorithms in the 10 days as I am not that good now. In a developing country like india we have to make sure that even our hobbies are productive. I want to know when was the last time you participated in codechef.com because in recent time the quality of its questions is deteriorating.

I just need a suggestion is participating in Codechef long challange helpful ?? And how much time should one devote to a problem ?? Is giving 1-2 days to a single problem beneficial ??
