Doubt regarding virtual round

Hey guys im new here and i wanted to know if i participate in virtual contests will i be given rating and also currently i have no rating and i participated in my first contest where i got just one question right, will i get finally get a rating? or is there some threshold i need to cross? Thanks in advance :)

  1. Virtual contests are for your own practice. They don't reward you rating. But you can use them for simulating a real contest environment and track your progress.
  2. Yes, if you participate in codeforces rounds your rating will change. For codeforces educational rounds and divison 3 rounds, you will have to wait 12 hours after the contest for the hacking phase to get over. And 1 — 2 hrs after hacking phase is over, your rating will change. For other codeforces round (official and global rounds), rating changes within an hour or two.
