psywoo's blog

So this blog will be harsh , And probably will get many downvotes , but this is the truth/ reality of the community ...

Firstly the community is biased (on ratings) .. By this I mean people often upvote or downvote just by looking at author's rating. You will often see GMs getting tons of likes for no good comment and low rated guys getting downvotes for legit comments and blogs...

Blogs are a way to reach out to people and hence everyone has the right to post whatever they feel right. You should not just downvote or comment harsh just because you feel the blog is stupid ...

So many legit comments are disregarded for no good reason. Whereas Silly comments by GMs are getting upvotes ...

Now , this said , poor comments deserve downvotes but silly comments by GMs also deserve negative votes..

At last I want to clear that I dont care about upvotes and downvotes , I just wanted to tell the fact that I have noticed ...

that is so true, i once posted an informative blog but i got -ve votes and i was pupil at that time, but now when i became candidate master even my silly or some stupid blog get high upvotes,I think this is because most voters see the rating of publisher not the content and they are mostly newbie or pupil Their act also tell us that these looser will remain looser for the rest of their life.

Absolutely right .. I have also seen fans .. I am not against it , but it shows immaturity , that a person just upvotes that GM bcuz he is his fan .. This just lowers the quality of the community

The rule of downvotes is amazing , it makes users think twice about the stuff they post , so if they post non sense , they would eventually get negative votes .

People tend to believe and mimic people who are successful/better than themselves. First become rich and then become a philosopher. Moreover , it's a good thing that ratism is there so that we are constantly motivated to improve.

Let's once and for all coin the term "ratism" for this.

Not regarding rating, this blog is annoying to read because too many "..." and also space before punctuation as in " , ". Spaces come after punctuation, never before.

And most silly comments getting upvotes are from monogon or some tester/author. Not saying that justifies anything other than silly comments with context are more likely to be funny than silly comments without context.

There are tons of comments written by higher rated guys , without any context

Can you provide examples of those? Reminding we're talking about silly comments, not just comments.

I wouldn't say it's for no reason though, I found it funny.

Arguing on this would be a waste of time, you have spent so many years on Codeforces , and if you say you didn't notice the ratism thing, then its a waste of time arguing with you. There are tons of comments having no contexts , and if you didn't find one then thats fine, lets end this here

I never said it doesn't happen but as Parliament said, nobody cares. I can find comments like that, it'd probably take more work than you might guess though. More importantly, if you raise a point the onus is on you to make it a stronger point, not the reader/commenter :P

"You should not just downvote or comment harsh just because you feel the blog is stupid"

Then why do the downvote button exists ? For the blog which we find useful ?
