How many teams will qualify for Asia finals? Is it happening?

About World Finals slot allocation, how does it work?

  1. Say an IIT Roorkee team wins Gwalior, does the team from Amritapuri or Gwalior qualify?
  2. If the same team gets a slot-winning position in two regionals, which regional do they win the slot from?

Are there any rules anywhere governing this allocation that I could see?

Regarding 1. — usually the institute decides internally which team they'll send, but they can only send one team to the World Finals.

One scenario that I remember (from 2014 I guess) — two different teams from IIITH won two different regionals. Both teams were going to participate in the third regional, so they decided to send the team with a better rank in the third regional to WF.

Another (older) story (don't know if it is true) — the teams' college professors set up an internal short contest to decide which team will go to WF.

Can confirm that the older story is true. An internal contest decided IITB WF team once. Also internal contest is the standard way in most countries too.

Glad you brought up this point. I don't think anyone has received any updates about the T-shirts after the ICPC.

No team that I'm aware of has received them yet; I wonder what's taking them so long.
