      It may be wrong.

Actually, many good students around me don't sleep until 2:30.

Or they even get up to study at 3:30.

But they can still keep a good spirit the whole day.

We call them "the steel man".

            I think no. See:

            $$$2^0 = 1$$$

            $$$2^1 = 2$$$

            $$$2^2 = 4$$$

            $$$2^3 = 8$$$

            $$$2^4 = 16$$$ etc.

            $$$2^3 = 8 \mod 7 = 1$$$, that's why $$$2^k \mod 7 = 2^{k-3} * 8 \mod 7 = 2^{k-3} * (8 \mod 7) \mod 7 = 2 ^ {k-3} \mod 7$$$

People of CF, why downvotes lol? You should check the answer, then downvote.

FairyWinx, Can you elaborate on the russian system of education. From which class do you start studing subject of your interest, at what age do you enter college and how many exams do you need to enter the best college. In India, Its much tougher than china as mentioned in the bloag. Your Teachers will ask you to study 15 hours a day if you are preparing for a good engineering college and there is no guarrantee for success(5000 / 1000000 students get a decent college)

How it looks for an ordinary student — there are 35 hours of classes per week + homework, where all Geography, biology, history, mathematics, Russian, English and so on. And it's all according to a single GOST for the whole country (while extremely lousy and weak, but not the point). And so on until ~ 10th grade (people enter school up to and including 7 years). In the 10th-11th grade, the oin are preparing for the final exam (ЕГЭ), solving essentially the same tasks for 2 years (there the topics of the tasks and their ideas have not changed for many years), well, they enter rather lousy universities (there are extremely few normal universities), mainly just for the sake of cutting the guys off from the army.

Now about specialized education and the like. There is no such thing from the state itself for the strongest schoolchildren (well, the maximum is just more hours of exam preparation), but you can help with a teacher and you will start doing conditional Olympiad mathematics from ~ 6th grade and start going to regional circles (but there is such a pleasure in an extremely small number of large cities), and there are online circles for everyone like Tinkoff, but you need to go there.

I can't say anything special about them, you just visit them 1-2 times a week, spend 2-3 hours for a couple, and decide at home how to turn out

there are also many summer schools of fairly good quality, as well as the Sirius educational center, where it is not difficult for an ordinary hard worker who has achieved something in the Olympiads to pass the selection (while it is not difficult to go there)

About the top schools. There is a conditional 239, 179, where math is very cool, but they rape there (35 hours according to the instructions of the Russian Federation and a bunch of homework (really a lot) and mugs), there is also a conditional CPM, where you don't really want to go to school at all. Well, if you are a cool Olympiad student, then you miss ~ 20-50 percent of the educational process, and you can skip school a little, because no one wants to expel you)

As for the Olympiads, there is an All-Russian Olympiad (which gives admission anywhere and there are selections for international competitions and in some regions they even pay well for it), it has a school, municipal, regional, final. The first 2 last ones are good, and the first 2 are made by regions, and it often turns out badly (hello, the most miserable municipal stage from the NSC with offline testing in 2021 and a geoma in which you just need to calculate the coordinates of everything and sort out inf cases). And also more lists for admission.

There are not so many top universities and there are half of the places for the Olympiads, I don't really understand what can be said about them anymore

But I was just being a bit realistic, that's all. I wasn't "slapping it on his face". Well, half of my relatives in China (I am a Chinese mix) have to deal with this and my parents moved out of China for that specific reason. Hope you understand. No ill intentions here.

Other than that, it's you and your family who urge to learn more by going to teacher's extra class. From Youtube videos...

I know the following things from Gaokao(correct me if I am wrong)

      1. Its the most important exam for Chinese students
      2. The government take this very seriously and arrange special transport facilities for it. Various norms are also followed to facilitate the exam procedure.
      3. Afer 10th standard , Chinese students leave their village, small districts etc and move to nearby cities to take admission in something known as Maotanchang High School which prepares specifically for Gaokao examination
      4. The Chinese people value their language a lot and hence its a mandatory subject in the Gaokao examination.
      5. Admission to colleges in China takes place only on the basis of Gaokao examination hence every Chinese student has to take it.
      6. People who can afford migrate to different countries such as USA etc to get rid of Gaokao examination...

This is what I know?? Am I correct

This post makes me so sad. It reminds me of the time when I was in elementary school.

I'm also from China. When I was a pupil, I got up at 6:00 a.m. and must get to school by 7:00 a.m. It was very early. Often it was totally dark when I was going to school.

But in the evening, I didn't have any extra classes as you. So after leaving school at 6:00 p.m., I would do my homework at home or watch some cartoon. After 9:00 pm, I was asked to go to bed.

As you mentioned in your post, I find that you only get 7 hours to sleep per day! Obviously, it is not enough for a pupil. Children under 12 should sleep at least 9 hours a day! I feel so sorry to hear that you suffered from that pressure at such a young age.

I think China's education culture has problems. This kind of hardworking does not work. It's much more important for young children to get enough sleep and do whatever they like.

And also, the distribution of education resources in China is extremely uneven. Now I am working at Beijing. I often see many pupils leave school at 3:00 p.m. These students might be attending the best public schools in China. So they will receive a more modern and humane education.

I envy them to have a such good education so that they can pay much less time on hardworking, but also have fun more and learn more.

Anyway, you are much more excellent than me in elementary school. When I was a pupil, I didn't know OI and didn't know how to write C++ at all until I came to univerisity. And I wasn't brave enough to communicate with others in English in such an international platform.

Wish you good luck.

Okay. Okay. I know. This might be my own idea, but I think this is a bit of an exaggeration.

I mean, I'm Chinese too, and I'm not experiencing this. Maybe I'm from what's called a "weak province" where there's not much competition in OI. Nevermind. I'm just here to say that I'm experiencing stuff much less than that.

For me, I usually do my homework between classes in school, so that saves lots of time doing homework at school. Also, I think the "extra lessons" thingy isn't necessary if I'm already good enough in those subjects.

And, involution and rat races are really common, and I get your feelings. But, to be honest, I think we should all somehow learn to relax even in such a tired lifestyle. (also, isn't it holiday?)

Downvote all you want. I'm just talking a truth from my perspective.

    the answer is floor(2*2+4*(sqrt(3)*sqrt(2)*2)+6*3*2+4*(sqrt(3)*sqrt(2)*3)+3*3)=floor(49+20*sqrt(6))=49+floor(sqrt(2400))=49+48=97.

          Your maths is so great!

My English is bad, even doesn't reach PET……

I haven't learnt conjugate radicals, but I find another solution: floor((sqrt(2)+sqrt(3)^4)

          =floor(x^2),x=(sqrt(2)+sqrt(3))^2.

          So,x=2+3+2sqrt(2)sqrt(3)=5+sqrt(24)

          The answer is floor(x^2)

          =floor(5*5+24+2*5sqrt(24))

          =49+floor(2400)

          also=97.

Yes, they're both calculating the result and then round down.

            My solution:

We know $$$(\sqrt2+\sqrt3)^4+(\sqrt3-\sqrt2)^4=98$$$ (Calculate it and found all the roots disappearing)

We know $$$(\sqrt3-\sqrt2)^4$$$ is a very small positive number, so the answer is $$$97$$$.

              Wow,what a great method!

              I can prove this: (a+b)^4+(a-b)^4=(a^4+4ab^3+6a^2b^2+4a^3b+b^4)+(a^4-4a^3*b+6a^2*b^2-4ab^3+b^4)=2(a^4+b^4)+12(a^2*b^2)

              So, (sqrt(2)+sqrt(3))^4+(sqrt(3)-sqrt(2))^4=2*(2^2+3^2)+12*(2*3)=26+72=98,right?

And (a+b)^n+(a-b)^n=sum of all the f(k) fits k<n,k mod 2 is 0,f(i)=a^i*b^(n-i)*2*n!/(k!)/(n-k),when n mod 2 is 0, right?(I'm working out what is it if n is odd)

(I don't know how to use latex on codeforces)

Rev. 2   Vote: I like it 0 Vote: I do not like it

      I'm Grade 8.

      So hard!

I have a stange way to solve it.

      Let $$$f(x)=x+\dfrac{1}{x}+2-2\sqrt{2x+1}$$$.

      $$$g(x)=x+2+\sqrt{2}-\Big(\sqrt{2}+1\Big)\sqrt{2x+1},h(x)=\dfrac{1}{x}-\sqrt{2}+\Big(\sqrt{2}-1\Big)\sqrt{2x+1}$$$, then $$$f(x)=g(x)+h(x)$$$.

      we have $$$g'(x)=\dfrac{-\sqrt{2}+\sqrt{2x+1}-1}{\sqrt{2x+1}}=1-\dfrac{\sqrt{2}+1}{\sqrt{2x+1}}$$$

      so $$$g'(x)\ge0$$$ if and only $$$\dfrac{\sqrt{2}+1}{\sqrt{2x+1}}\le 1,\sqrt{2}+1\le\sqrt{2x+1}$$$, so $$$2x+1\ge 3+2\sqrt{2}$$$, that is, $$$x\ge\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

      So $$$\arg\min{g(x)}={\sqrt{2}+1}$$$, when $$$x=\sqrt{2}+1$$$, $$$g(x)=0$$$, and $$$g(x)\ge0$$$ for all $$$x$$$.

      and $$$h'(x)=\dfrac{\sqrt{2}x^2-x^2-\sqrt{2x+1}}{x^2\sqrt{2x+1}}$$$, because $$$x^2\sqrt{2x+1}>0$$$, so $$$h'(x)\ge0$$$ if and only $$$\Big(\sqrt{2}-1\Big)x^2-\sqrt{2x+1}\ge0$$$, that is $$$\Big(\sqrt{2}-1\Big)x^2\ge\sqrt{2x+1}$$$, $$$\dfrac{\Big(\sqrt{2}-1\Big)x^2}{\sqrt{2x+1}}\ge 1$$$, $$$\dfrac{x^2}{\sqrt{2x+1}}\ge\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

      Because $$$\sqrt{2x+1}>0$$$, so it equals to $$$x^2-\Big(\sqrt2+1\Big)\sqrt{2x+1}\ge 0$$$, $$$P(x)=\Big(\sqrt{2}-1\Big)x^2-\sqrt{2x+1}\ge0$$$.

It's easy to see $$$P(x)$$$ is continous, that us see when will $$$P(x)=0$$$.

      $$$\Big(3-2\sqrt{2}\Big)x^4=2x+1$$$

Obverse to get $$$x=\sqrt{2}+1$$$ is a root, are there any other roots?

      No!

because $$$P'(x)=4\Big(3-2\sqrt{2}\Big)x^3-2$$$, so $$$P(x)$$$ is getting smaller when $$$x\le\dfrac{1}{2(3-2\sqrt{2})}$$$, and getting bigger when $$$x>\dfrac{1}{2(3-2\sqrt{2})}$$$, because $$$\sqrt{2}+1$$$ is bigger than $$$\dfrac{1}{2(3-2\sqrt{2})}$$$ and when $$$x=0$$$, $$$P(x)>0$$$, so $$$P(x)=0$$$ if and only $$$x=\sqrt{2}+1$$$, so $$$P(x)\ge0$$$ if and only $$$x\ge\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

so $$$h'(x)\ge0$$$ if and only $$$x\ge\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

      so $$$\arg\min h(x)={\sqrt{2}+1}$$$, in this time, $$$h(x)=0$$$, and $$$h(x)\ge0$$$ for all $$$x$$$.

so $$$f(x)=g(x)+h(x)\ge0$$$, it equals to $$$0$$$ if and only $$$x=\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

      We solve it!

$$$f(x)\ge 0,f(y)\ge0,f(x)+f(y)=0$$$, it says what! it says $$$f(x)=f(y)=0$$$!

      so $$$x=y=\sqrt{2}+1$$$, yeeh!

      What a big work! I'm a $$$\rm\LaTeX$$$ master!

      upd:

Many people downvoted it... I have a much easy solution!

      $$$f(x)=x+\dfrac{1}{x}+2-2\sqrt{2x+1}$$$, $$$f"(x)=\dfrac{2x^3+2\sqrt{2x+1}(2x+1)}{x^3\sqrt{2x+1}(2x+1)}>0$$$, find that $$$f'(\sqrt{2}+1)=0$$$, so $$$\arg\min f(x)=\sqrt{2}+1$$$, $$$f(\sqrt{2}+1)\ge 0$$$ and equals only in $$$x=\sqrt{2}+1$$$, $$$f(x)+f(y)=0$$$ so $$$f(x)=f(y)=0$$$, so $$$x=y=\sqrt{2}+1$$$.

Bro, this is 6th grade math. Just use AM/GM inequality:

        $$$1/2 (x + (1/x + 2)) \geq \sqrt{1 + 2x}$$$, and

        $$$1/2 (y + (1/y + 2)) \geq \sqrt{1 + 2y}$$$.

Add them side-wise and you get that the right-hand side is (almost) always smaller then the left-hand side in the original equation. Thus, the only solutions must be whenever the inequalities are equalities, so they are the positive solutions to the equation $$$x = 1/x + 2$$$ and $$$y = 1/y + 2$$$. Which means that $$$x = y = 1 + \sqrt 2$$$ (simple quadratic equation).

(focus on the one you like other than that every thing is irrelevant you just need to pass the other subjects with minimum score imo) you can easily rest in university because most of the topics are based on the things that you will study before university and you con put that time in university on any thing you want.
