Contest day 2: https://dmoj.ca/contest/cco20d2

Hi CodeForces,

DMOJ will host a mirror of the 2020 Canadian Computing Olympiad this Wednesday and Friday 3:00PM ET.

The start time will be approximately 2 hours after the end of the official competition. Timeanddate links can be found within the links above. It will be a 3-problem, 4 hour contest, similar to IOI-style.

If the mirror time doesn't work for you, the problems will still be available for solving afterwards on the main judge. Good luck and have fun!

Hello Codeforces!

As mentioned in the previous post regarding the HackerEarth Collegiate Cup, I would like to invite you to participate in HackerEarth Collegiate Cup Qualifier Round. It's a 24 hours contest that will start on Sep 03, 10:00 AM IST.

The problem set consists of 3 traditional algorithmic tasks. There will be no partial scoring. All the teams who solve at least one problem will qualify to the next round. Check the contest page for more details about in-contest schedule and rules.

I'm a tester of the problem set you'll be working on — thanks to Xsquare and magieNoire for preparing these tasks.

Happy Coding :)

Hello Codeforces!

I would like to invite you to participate in HackerEarth June Circuits based on Naruto theme. It's a long contest that will start on June 18, 21:00 IST. Contest will run for 8 days.

The problem set consists of 7 traditional algorithmic tasks and 1 approximate problem. For traditional algorithmic tasks, you will receive points for every test case your solution passes — so you can get some points with partial solutions as well. For the approximation task, your score depends on the best solution in the contest so far. Check contest page for more details about in-contest schedule and rules.

I'm a tester of the problem set you'll have to work on — thanks to pkacprzak, usaxena95, magieNoire and r3gz3n for preparing these tasks.

The contest will be rated. There will be some cool prizes for the top 5 competitors:

  1. $100 Amazon gift card + HE t-shirt.
  2. $75 Amazon gift card + HE t-shirt.
  3. $50 Amazon gift card + HE t-shirt.
  4. HE t-shirt.
  5. HE t-shirt.

Hello Codeforces users!

I invite all of you to participate in the DMPG '16 online mirror contests. The DMPG '16 is a set of 3 contests divided into three divisions, Gold (harder), Silver (medium), and Bronze (easier). Each contest is a 3-hour virtual contest with a problemset of 6 problems which are disjoint from the other divisions, so you can choose to participate in any subset of the contests (or, if one division is too hard, you can switch to an easier division). These contests will not impact any rating on any platform, so feel free to just enter and look at the problems without any obligation to write code for them. The contests will be hosted on the DMOJ platform. I strongly recommend you all to try the Gold division!

Gold Contest | Silver Contest | Bronze Contest

The contest window is 10 hours beginning at 11:00 EDT; you may pick any 3 hour interval at your convenience during the larger contest window to solve the problems in. You should start within 7 hours of the window starting time if you want to use the full 3 hours to solve problems.

The scoring format will be in the form of subtasks; you get partial marks for each subtask you solve correctly. Additionally, each of the 6 problems have a maximum of 100 points, so a perfect score will be 600 points. During the contest you will have full feedback. Ties in the scoreboard will be broken by the sum of highest-scoring submission times.

The difficulty of the Gold contest will be similar to a CF Div 1 round, except that the easiest problem will be harder and the hardest problem will be easier. A similar situation applies for the Silver contest and a CF Div 2 round, and if CF had Div 3 rounds that would be the difficulty of the Bronze contest.

I was involved only in the preparation of the Gold contest. The authors of the Gold contest are me (FatalEagle), cheezecake, and mrthefakeperson. I would also like to thank Reyna for helping us test the problems for the Gold division.

UPD: You may now begin your virtual contest.

UPD2: The contest is over. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Hello Codeforces,

I invite you all to participate in HackerEarth's July Clash on July 18th, 2015 at 06:30 UTC. The duration of the contest is 24 hours. I (FatalEagle) am the author of this contest. zxqfl is the tester, shef_2318 is the Russian translator, and belowthebelt oversaw the production of this contest.

The problemset consists of 4 traditional algorithmic tasks and 1 approximation task. For traditional algorithmic tasks, you will receive points for every test case your solution passes. For the approximation task, your score depends on the best solution in the contest so far. All tasks will contain subtasks, so you will know exactly how much you should expect to score if you submit a suboptimal solution. The subtasks are designed to be approachable for most people, so even if you don't have any clue how to solve the whole problem, you can earn a decent amount of points on the subtasks.

There are prizes for the top 5 contestants:

  1. $100 Amazon gift card and HackerEarth T-shirt
  2. $80 Amazon gift card and HackerEarth T-shirt
  3. $50 Amazon gift card and HackerEarth T-shirt
  4. HackerEarth T-shirt
  5. HackerEarth T-shirt

Good luck to all contestants!

P.S. I'm particularly interested in seeing IOI 2015 participants on the leaderboard. It is a little more than a week before the start of IOI 2015, and I hope participants will find the problemset worthwhile to solve as preparation.

UPD: More than half the contest is over, about 10 hours and 30 minutes remaining from time of posting. Only 2 contestants managed to solve 4 or more problems — will you be the third?.

UPD2: Congrats to the Top 5!
1. anta
2. HellKitsune
3. qwerty787788
4. mugurelionut
5. Kmcode

Since the CCC is approaching fast, alextrovert and I have prepared a practice contest modeled after the CCC with the same format and problem style.

The format is a 3-hour timed contest which you may start at any time today or tomorrow. We tried to make the difficulty level a bit higher than the real CCC so we won't disappoint contestants who did well on this practice contest.

You can find the contest here (Senior is harder, Junior is easier): http://wcipeg.com/contests

So far, nobody has gotten a perfect score on the Senior contest yet. Can you do it? (Confession: actually, the main reason for me posting this contest here is because I spent a lot of time preparing Senior #5, and nobody solved it.)

In case you don't have a wcipeg account but you have a DMOJ account or would like to try upsolving the problems after your timer ends, the contest will also be at DMOJ.

Thank you for your attention!
