PurpleThinker's blog

By PurpleThinker, 2 years ago, In English

An interesting milestone was achieved: 100000 blog entries on Codeforces! Codeforces has come a long way and 100000 blogs is yet another reminder of the international CP community that Codeforces helped to create. It's a good opportunity to thank MikeMirzayanov (and the other CF admins) for this amazing platform, which is not just a contest & problem archive, but also a means for people to gather from all around the world to discuss about CP. I hope that Codeforces will last for the years and decades to come (and thus also get to the millionth blog post :) ).

A fun game I invented is replacing the digits at the end of the blog url with some random ones and seeing what they lead me to.

Great milestone, just shows the importance of Codeforces in bringing together people to discuss competitive programming.

However, I wonder how many of those are just blogs asking for trivial advice (for which you can almost always find a blog in recent actions already) or some spam blog, or stuff titled "a question" that just copy-pastes question from some hiring test without any context/formatting, or some cheating blog in more recent times.

Just because there's a lot of data doesn't mean there's a lot of useful information in it.

Edit: for people like me who can't count, this is the $$$10^5$$$-th blog on Codeforces. Don't ask me how I counted the zeros.
