Is Ryzen processor laptop good for Programming?

I am planning to buy a laptop this month which has a Ryzen 5 5500U processor. Will it be good for programming purpose? I will do competitive programming and android development.

For competitive programming (as for all other things) any processor will do, as long as it is not very old. As far as Android development is concerned, I suggest buying enough memory. At least 16 GB, but more is better.
