Hello !! I wanted to ask what is the meaning of the 4-digit number with an alphabet at the end of it that is written in the ' # ' column on the problem set page , example : 1729C . I can notice that the alphabet tells whether the problem was 'A', 'B', 'C' etc in the contest. But I cannot figure out the meaning of the 4 digits.

Please clarify my doubt...

The 4-digit number is not necessary. It indicates the number of the contest and the alphabet character is the problem character in the contest for example -> problem A in a div2 contest -> then the contest number followed by A because it is problem A.

To add to this, that four digit number can be used to filter submission based on contest in status filter.

The number: number of contest

The character: the character of that problem

for example, 1729C means the third problem of contest 1729

hope u understood :)

so does that mean the alphabet 'C' in 1729C has nothing to do with the difficultly of the question?

Indirectly as it just helps in the ordering of the problems in the contest and as you know the problems are arranged mostly by the order of increasing difficulty

It is "contest id".
