All of us heard about the tension in Russia with US and Europe, does anyknow knows if this can in anyway affect the ACM-ICPC finals this year? Is there any chance that the finals moves to another country?

That might be a good idea actually... probably will show that life just goes on as usual for most people. My officemate (in grad school) is from there, and I've only heard good things about the place (and wine from there too ^_^)...

I'm employed in a project where several developers reside in Russia (as myself) and several in Ukraine — while managers are in California. Funny, but for us and our communications really nothing was changed — moreover people are freely travelling between these 3 locations.

I hope that for Universities and non-governmental organizations also no geographical limitations would be imposed. Only few months remained and such change will affect many people.

In 2011 the World Finals was moved from Egipto tu USA. But I think this time is far from being the same.

What's with the down-votes? This is actually a legitimate concern that I'm interested in hearing more about. I can totally picture some kind of travel advisory from the US government that Baylor University / ACM / IBM need to comply to... Never underestimate the idiocy of politics...

A week ago Bill Poucher in private conversation told to my coach(I hope it is OK to publish part of this conversation here) that they continue planning for the World Finals in Yekaterinburg with host Ural Federal University. They will do their best to make sure that all teams can compete.

Hello from Ukraine everybody!
