The registration for Hello World Open has begun. It's a team (1-3 persons) competition where you have to code an AI for a race car and then let it compete against others.

Here are some important dates:

  • April 15th: coding begins
  • April 22nd: sign up ends.
  • April 29th: coding ends
  • May 6-8th: qualifying rounds
  • June 5th: finals

There are also some prizes:

  • 1st place: 5000 euros
  • 2nd place: 3000 euros
  • 3rd place: 2000 euros
  • 4th to 6th place: sponsor prizes

It seems that people under 18 are not allowed to participate :/

I really hope that C++ is allowed even though not mentioned in the web site...

I actually cannot believe that someone is trying to organize "the first ever Coding World Championships" (lol) and not even mentioning about it on Codeforces or practically anywhere... Anyway, I think people here should hear about it.

EDIT: New sign up deadline (April 7th -> April 22nd)

Not to mention it's not coding in general, but just AI creation.

What do you mean, how can we create AI without a code?

"Not coding in general" isn't the same as "not coding" :D

What I mean is that there are many forms of competitive coding — algorithmic, AI creation, optimization of various forms, etc. TC Open is a good example. Also, I was replying to

"the first ever Coding World Championships" (lol)

I opened the front page and saw "Develop an AI". Do the organizers consider nothing else "coding"?
