Hi. I got a problem with TC Arena and I described it here: http://apps.topcoder.com/forums/?module=Thread&threadID=849024&start=0&mc=1#1991748 but since I need a quick help I decided to put this also here because more people will see this. If somebody could help it would be great.

Quoting myself "(If that's of any relevance, I work on Linux Ubuntu 12.10)"

Well so not sure about Linux but I know that for osx for instance it has to run under java 6, and doing otherwise breaks things. I just have java 8 installed separately to run my own code. Aside from the philosophical question of why it won't run under java 8, would it not be simpler to just have two versions, one for the system, and one for your own code?

I think, you can try calling javaws ContestAppletProd.jnlp from command line to see what kind of exception is happening.

Ehhh. After ~4 hours of fighting with Java, IcedTea and upgrading Ubuntu to make apt-get's work I finally managed to run arena. I joked with Errichto that after that big effort I will very likely get 0 pts and big rating drop. He replied with another joke that this SRM will be unrated. And that joke turned out to be true ;_;.
