Can we please move one of the two rounds to a weekend day? It would be so nice for those of us who have work :(
If the Friday contest is gonna be moved, please let it be to Saturday, not Sunday. I don't want to miss yet another contest. I always miss contests held on Sundays because Sunday mornings / noons / early afternoons are the only time of the week when I'm always sleeping.
You should schedule your sleep according to Codeforces round.

Indeed, because that is another very stupid comment :P. Indeed it is as I_love_Hoang_Yen said, that is you who should adjust, not contest. If contests are held at time which is for example 4AM for you, then complaints would be justified, but demanding cf round to be scheduled in other time, because you are used to sleep in a middle of a day is — I will use that word once again — pathetic.
Let me ask you something. How old are you? What do you do during weekdays?
If you're still at high school or university, it's easy to say that. When you work 9 hours on weekdays and a few hours on saturday mornings, then sunday mornings/noons are the only time of the week when you can sleep and rest all you want, so you don't wanna get up early and lose the only opportunity to rest properly.
I'm 21. Why is that relevant? During weekdays I study and I sometimes return to home really late from my university (like ~23 o'clock) and often need to learn much or do my exhausting assignments which causes me to go to bed at 3AM on average (and if I'm not doing them I probably waste my time in Internet and also get to bed at that time :P)
If I was still at college, I would get up on sunday to do a contest and then adjust my schedule accordingly during the week in case I'm tired. But unluckily, I'm not 21 and I'm not at college.
Yeah, I was kinda expecting answer like "I have a job and I'm a real man, don't make me laugh with your university you little kiddo". Let me disagree. On one side full job demands being more systematic etc., but on the other side after you go out of your job (probably sth like 16-18) you don't have to care about it anymore while my studies demand a lot of work on my own till late night. But that is probably a subject for a long discussion, so leave that alone. Yes, I kind of agree with that. It's something to discuss more in depth, you're right about that. Sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention.
Let's just say that Codeforces should hold contests at many different times, not always at 19:30 Moscow time, so that people from all over the world can take them. If you live in New Zealand, for example, the way the contests are now, you can never take part in them, because they are always held at 4:30 AM.
I just want to say that I had been waking up at 2:00AM to write a Codeforces round for two years when I was in high school. And, of course, at 4:30AM I went to bed to get some sleep before going to school at 8:00AM.
I have full time job, starting part time master course soon, have ACM trainings for next year and other responsibilities (e.g. girlfriend). Am I eligible to answer your question?
When you have a hobby (in this case, Codeforces), it is you who are supposed to sacrifice things to enjoy it. What has you contribute to this community to expect it to care about your reasons of sleeping and change schedule because you don't want to "miss yet another contest".
Depends on where you live. You certainly don't have much free time, so we are at the same position there. But from what I know, your time zone makes it comfortable for you to take contests any day.
Contests are held at a time that's comfortable for people living in Russia or near that zone. If you live in Vietnam, then 23:30 is a very comfortable time to take a contest. But, in my country, the contesta are always held at 13:30, which is never a comfortable time, because people are either at school, working or sleeping. Ant let's not talk if you live in other countries, like New Zealand (4:30 AM) or Australia (2:30 AM)...
My point since the beginning of topic is that the community don't need to care about you. While you keep stressing your problems.
And you should not judge whether it is easy or comfortable for me or anyone (e.g. in this case Swistakk), because you don't know about what we have to do in order to participate in contests.
The community shouldn't care particularly about me, about you or about anyone.
The community should care about the world, because people from all over the world take part in Codeforces contests, and it looks like all the contests are held at 19:30 Moscow time. That's very selfish if you ask me.
I don't think it's fair that a whole section of the world can't take part in contests because they either coincide with school/work hours or because it's really late in the night (4AM / 5 AM).
I firmly believe contests should start to have more varied times, like they have at TopCoder (8 AM, 13:30 PM and 22 PM).
Yes, many people are unfortunate because of this timezone thing. We're in a very sad world.
But the reason CF rounds are fixed is discussed many times, and it is because some admins need to be online during the round, not because they are selfish.
Admin is a tough job, and it's not like they can hire random people around the world to do it.
So you're trying to tell me that the only moment admins can be online is from 19:30 to 21:30 or 22:00? They must have a really tight schedule...
Come on, that's not an excuse! They can easily adjust contests anyway. If they need to be online, hold contests at 16:30, 19:30 and 22:30, at the very least. That would allow a lot more countries to take part in contests and it's not a hassle for admins from Russia either.
Obviously, being online doesn't mean just 2 hours of contest time. It involves online before the contest start to check if there is no issue that may lead to problems, until after judging of all solutions, checking for cheaters, waiting for rating updates to complete and then make sure that everything is now still in place (for example, unlock pages that are locked during contests).
Unless the online time is like 14 hours, it still can be adjusted at least a couple of hours forward or a couple of hours back. Don't try to throw the blame on me and try to be the good guy by defending admins and the community in general, because anyone who gives it just a little bit of thoughts can see that contest times can be adjusted at the very least by a couple of hours, and that alone would allow a lot of people who usually can't compete to take part in contests.
It's been a long time since a normal Codeforces round was scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday. So, how about scheduling rounds on weekends more often? For us living in the Americas, it's hard to compete on weekdays since we're usually at school or work.
It's good. It does not intersect with 101 Hack Jun now.
And the time has shifted from 18:30 to 19:30 as well.
I want to preface this comment by saying that Codeforces is my favorite contest platform by far. But I get the feeling that Codeforces changes its contest times more often than any other platform, and these changes often occur just one or two days before the contest.
Those of us who work need to plan our schedules in advance to participate, and changing times last minute is a huge inconvenience. I have no problems with scheduling the contest at odd hours, but once scheduled, it's really not good to move the times around frequently.
In this case, I booked a Wednesday flight once I found out the round was on Tuesday. Then the round switched to Wednesday, and I changed my flight so I could compete during my layover. Now it is shifted forward one hour, and there's nothing I can do. (You can tell that I'm also a Codeforces addict, but that's another matter...)
I guess you won't die if you miss this one. You've already missed quite a few this year (for an ADDICT this is very, very bad).
