Steve Jobs passed away

For those who don't know yet. Yesterday morning Steve Jobs died.

It's hard to estimate what he done for IT for his life. It's very sad that so great people die.

How true. He will be missed. I hope he died in peace, and rests in peace. He was bold enough to dream big, and brave enough to pursue them with all his might.

My favorite part of his speech at Stanford is : "Stay hungry. Stay foolish.". It's always better to know more. :)

And a week later Dennis Ritchie also passed away (which I didn't know until today).  I could hardly estimate how much he influenced the computing world today. It's really sad that great people die.

One thing that discriminate great people is that after their death they become more popular than when they were alive. So was with Michael Jackson, so is with Steve Jobs.

I have never held an iPhone in my hands, I've never had a MacBook and have very little experience with Mac OS X. All I knew about Steve Jobs before his death is that he was the head of Apple. That's all.

On that sorrowful day when mass media had informed about his passing away I decided to watch one of his interviews to learn what kind of person he was. And I was astonished! The mankind lost a very deep and wise person. His speeches and thoughts are short and simple but very precise and enlightening.

On that interview he talked about secrets of his success. They sound so easy: "To be successful you must love what you do and gather great people around you". But it is improbably difficult and the one who managed to find what they really love and inspired other people to do it is unarguably an outstanding person.

And of course no one could be indifferent to his Stanford speech mentioned above. Steve Jobs came through a date with Death. And he explains how it influenced him and made him stronger and wiser: "Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."

But for me the most exciting his words are: "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Thank you, Steve Jobs, for all the things you publicly said, for all the complicated lore and life experience you explained in such a simple way. You were a wisdom, you were outstanding. And now you can be satisfied - you changed the world!
