I just wanted to know anybody here uses VI/VIM as text editor in programming contest. its just a curiosity.

Yes I do and I'm completely happy with it. Way better than Code::Blocks which I used to work with!

I think Vim sux, can't imagine any reason why you guys use Vim to Emacs, which is obviously better. Emacs has normal shortcuts for humans and it can do anything!

There is a joke about VIM:
- How to generate a random string?
- Just open VIM and ask 1-st year student to close the program.
