kingofnumbers's blog

Hello everybody,

Errichto has been inaccessible for a month now, not replying anyone on FB nor hangouts even though he become online sometimes (maybe he is not actually online?), he is also no logging into his account on CF.

The fact that he is a contest admin in codechef and he is no longer administrating the contests suggests that there's a strong reasons for his absence from the internet for this long period.

if anyone know about his circumstances please let us know, we hope he is fine!

Last time he replied something to me was May 6th. Since then he didn't answer any of my messages. Google Hangouts shows that he was offline for 4 weeks.

Radewoosh, Swistakk, you are the closest people to Kamil that I know. Do you know what happened with him? Or maybe can you contact him somehow else?

He was on our ACM celebration party this Friday, but he quit before midnight (as first person), so he is alive but something is definitely not fine ;p

He's one of the problem setters of IOI and he's now quarantined here to do some stuffs.(I think he came here about a week ago, I don't know where he was before that)

Wait. Is it allowed to reveal the problem setter of IOI in advance?

As far as I know, it is revealed at the GA meeting after the contest.

WTF. You can't just publish this information. HSC trusted you with this. If anyone finds out you'll end up in the same place Errichto is. You don't wanna know how they torture in Evin prison...

I've also noticed his significant absence. Asked Radewoosh if everything is okay. He says that Kamil is alive :D

On a more serious note they are having a lot of exams at University now. I think we should just wait patiently and he will surely be back in a while.

Kamil disappeared from conversation with me when I waited problems for a contest from him, so just waiting patiently didn't work for me. If he also stopped doing his work on codechef that also looks strange.

    UPD: I didn't see a comment below.

I'm very sorry. A month ago something happened in my family (don't worry about it, not sth extremely serious) and I wanted/needed a few days off, away from all the responsibilities. Instead of warning "I need some time, find someone else to do this and that", I just stopped visiting Codechef, CF and hangouts. Later I went back to life (meeting with friends and participating in contests) but I kept postponing going back to work ("I will do it tomorrow"). It's hard to imagine something more irresponsible. Now my friends contacted me about this blog and asked me what's going on. I think it's time for me to apologize many people and face the consequences.

I won't ask Hasan to remove this blog because people should know what I did. But please, if anybody has something more to say about the whole thing, write to me in private.

This is completely normal if there is nobody whom you work with (I mean not online but in-person) on your "responsibilities".

    Just from my own experience:

I always need a friend or someone whom to work with on my project/"responsibility"/exam/any_business if I want to do/finish it. Otherwise, I can guarantee I will postpone these "responsibilities" until it is too/very late.

So, I never work alone. Nearly always, I do my "responsibilities" with those who can help me with them, and, usually, I do it at some good workplace.

And that is completely OK, because we are humans. There are great TED video describing procrastination mechanism and recent research about how communities affect our lives from Mark Zuckerberg. Watch, read, and think about them — a great food for thought. :)

Maybe someone will find himself in these words :) Keep calm and carry on with somebody.
