Does anyone actually know the reason of why vintage_Vlad_Makeev is lowering his rating?
It might be:
- He wants to set codeforces record of max rating gained in 1 contest (after he will reach bottom, 1 contest with all problems solved)
- After failing to become legendary grandmaster, he gained rage.
- He sold his accaunt.
- Russian hackers hacked his account.
- He wants to be first in becoming newbie after grandmaster.
What is your opinion?

In India, besides getting a master's degree in CS, there is only one way to get a normal job, that is to show your codeforces account to an employer. So lots of people who cannot afford education follow the latter path. You can often stumble upon street vendors trading cf accounts there.

I recently was contacted by an Indian girl to help her get a job in my company. When I asked her why she doesn't want to work in India, she told me that they don't accept more traditional hiring process there, and cf account (which she didn't have money for) is a must.

I am Indian..I am not sure if you can find street vendors selling CF accounts..that sounded ridiculous..but there are some who cheats in the coding competitions specially codechef and then put it up in their resumes and linkedin profiles..not sure how much that helps though..since you still have to clear screening test where those ratings are pretty irrelevant.

I'm not sure what are exact numbers currently. However, I know that the market changes rapidly and inflation is a thing, that's why so many people here are against red coders creating fake accounts and selling them for cheap.
Is this true? I looked at some of his recent submissions and several looked like they were designed to fail, for example 43969235, 44627814. However there are also ones that look more genuinely crappy, e.g. 45613152 and 45292163. So I don't know what to make of this. He sold his account but intentionally became Div. 2 before?

You should be happy: he gives his rating to all of you, 1200 points are already distributed, maybe one of the points of your own rating is the rating he sacrificed.
