Hello codeforces,
I am writing this blog because I believe the current contribution standing are insulting for us as a community , why does Ashishgup who is nothing more than a cry baby farm so much contribution by writing useless blogs or ranting codechef. I can name 50 people who have posted more valuable content than him but he is the person on number 3 and i hate it every time I see it, rng_58 created AtCoder , Petr writes wonderful blogs , neal has many blogs about the technicalities of c++ but what has Ashishgup done to be #3 ?
I sincerely apologise if I have hurt anyones sentiments.
Contributions are calculated based on people's upvotes and downvotes, we people upvote the content/blogs we find useful or like. They are top contributors because people liked their content. Are you trying to say that we have less understanding of good/bad content?
It's not necessary that what you find useless is useless for others as well.
About you questioning rank 3, well this cry baby wrote what we wanted to convey to codechef, so indeed made our lives easy. Approaching some issue should not be considered as crying. And he has other blogs as well, he hosted a couple of cf rounds also and so on rank #3.

Firstly I am not taking a side of anyone, just saying my own point of view.
Actually, Codeforces is the best site to reach the coding community at this much huge scale. There are a lot of Indians who faced issues in the Indian ICPC regionals/Online round. It may be possible if someone raises his/her voice the regional director understands all this and they stop choosing CodeChef as their contest host.
It is correct in a way that that person who teaches something by writing a blog should get more contribution but actually what happens is Suppose, If I am writing some blog of some topic then obviously it will not be helpful to all users. Like some people would already be knowing that and some would not be able to understand that.
Let's take an example of youtube, It’s not necessary that one education channel on Youtube should always get more subscribers than other channels.
One gets contribution by people, And I guess there no such award or any reward for the highest contributor,He has conducted two contest (agreed that writing two contest blog only won’t make you a top 3 contributor) but anyway if he won't be writing useful blogs his contribution will fly away in 6 months. And more on that the people who educate others by writing blogs, I don’t think that they would be caring that how much contribution are they getting.
