Hello I suggest adding a site notification when the contest start. It's simple and It will notify us about contests. We register and forget about the contest. So it will be a great value for us.

If you keep the page open in the browser, any new notification will be shown at the icon of the tab (including when contest starts, or announcement in a contest). Or is that not enough?
Maybe you meant an email notification? There's already one such feature, even though it is not sent to notify you when the contest starts (only to let you know the contest exists). Email notification for the start of a contest is probably going overboard.
There is also the option of setting your own reminder in your own device.
