[Feature Request] Option to never see a blog again

Hello everyone.

I have always liked educational blog posts, blogs about contest discussions, problem discussions etc. on codeforces. Recently though, the number of irrelevant posts like this have increased tremendously and they have unnecessarily high activity which keeps them constantly hot. Honestly it is annoying to see such posts. It would be great if we have a feature allowing us to never see a blog post again so it doesn't appear in the recent actions window. MikeMirzayanov

You can use Adblock to block a specific party of website explicitly.

Great idea! I considered posting the same before. What about even better, there could be multiple boards or types of content (e.g. Educational, Announcement, Feature and Development etc.) where people post, and we can choose the ones we like to browse. This way the content you see will be better in quality, and I believe this will make Codeforces community system better.

One thing i would Like to suggest is to divide Blogs on Categories Like:

1)Editorials

2)Tutorials

3)Queries

->Programming Problems

->Informational(When is ICPC)

->Defaming and boasting Posts (U mentioned One Link)

Agreed. It is quite irritating to see the same/similar post multiple times not only on code forces but also on other coding platforms too.

Although I agree that it would be nice to have such a feature, I totally disagree with you on your estimate of irrelevance of the posts similar to the one you've mentioned — https://codeforces.com/blog/entry/76286.

I personally think it's important to bring up problems like the one in the post and make people aware of the scam companies who are ripping off naive people who just want to get a job. And the case is question is relevant to many competitive programmers from India so it aligns with the thematics of Codeforces.

"they have unnecessarily high activity" — it's not up to you to decide if the activity is necessary or not. And actually what's your problem with just ignoring this post and reading other posts?

    Nobody said anything about that post being bad in nature. If I've already read a blog, what's so bad about dismissing it since it would make no sense for me to read or see it AGAIN?

    Hi Caustique, Disclaimer: I am one of the co-founders of Scaler Academy (the company in question there) and got to notice these today once Utkarsh posted on the said blog.

    We are currently being targeted by a paid campaign. Our students and mentors on the community are being harassed by multiple fake accounts. When a real student comes to express their opinion there, they are being downvoted by a mob of fake accounts.

    I absolutely agree that issues should be brought up. But right now, it's very easy to be doing it through anonymous handles creating fake accounts and just inciting folks for the wrong reasons.

    A healthy discussion is where both parties get to put forward their point of views. I joined and participated in Codeforces contests in 2009-10 and participated in ACM ICPC World Finals. I'd be very sad if this platform encourages any form of fake online bullying. While my request won't be to remove such posts, but to control malicious activity through multiple fake accounts on the platform.
