cheaters_busted's blog

It has not been long since one of the self boasted guys Karan's cheating was revealed at Codeforces. Looks like this time it one of his disciples who is following the same path. The guy who has been caught red handed is praveenojha33 who keeps boasting of his programming skills at public groups.

This time, I will present you two new cheaters of the community. One of them is praveenojha33 and the other is mamme_hunter

In yesterday's contest, praveenojha33 copied all the solutions from mamme_hunter. mamme_hunter cannot claim that the solutions were copied from ideone or from some other source, since both of them tend to know each other well, and have participated in team contests too. (Check praveenojha33's submission history to clarify).

The doubt came up to my mind when praveenojha33's code appeared clumsy on the first look. So I decided to have have a look at the structure of the code by auto-formatting it. When I did auto-format it, every solution identically matched with mamme_hunter's. The only differences were.

  • In Problem-B's submission, he shifts the bottom-part of the code to a function solve() and trims all the spaces to save it from the detector. Also he smartly changes the while statement's to for statement's. If there are if and else, he switches condition, like puts the else part first and if the next. Praveen's Cheat-code, Mamme's Real-Submission
  • In problem C, he uses the same trick, then this time he uses two explicit functions to break codes. You can re-arrange them to find that both of the codes are matching. Praveen's Cheat-code, Mamme's Real-Submission
  • In problem D, he did not even bother to make an explicit function, since the code was not that lengthy. hence he knew template will save him from the detection. He just changed variable names this time. Praveen's Cheat-code, Mamme's Real-Submission

I will request MikeMirzayanov to remove these two people from the ranklist, a strict action is really necessary.

P.S: I am from your college praveenojha33. I did not want the college to unnecessarily target me for defaming college's name. But then this was really necessary, to stop people from following cheating as the way to reach milestones. This post will again bring in a lot of fears to all people who have been following this practice, if not all many will stop. I want the community to stand up and take such measures, such that before sharing a code, a person thinks twice about the upcoming measures.

Everything is fine but please remove the tricks used to cheat that are mentioned in the blog as it will give ideas to a lot more people to cheat who don't know bout it.

The sample size is bigger. Indians are the majority. So even if the same percentage of people are corrupt, on absolute numbers Indians are more than other countries.

Indians are a big fraud. Daily there are tons of submissions and posts in almost every round highlighting these Cheaters. What more surprising is even people going in ICPC World Finals from India have been caught in Cheating on many platforms, One e.g. is the guy who goes by the name hitman623. This guy has qualified in World Finals and now look at his CodeChef Profile https://www.codechef.com/users/hitman623 . Two times he has been caught while cheating. Also one more funny thing is that these people not only invest their time in Cheating but also keep posting about it on different platforms and disturb others a lot . Better than cheating and posting it here and invest your time in learning.

Whats the point of attacking a guy now for something he did two years ago?

That doesn't necessarily mean that he cheated. There are instances where people mistakenly post their code online thinking that it's private, but it gets stolen without their knowledge. I know cheaters, hitman623 is definitely not one of them.

Well, what exactly happened in these cases was: 1. Once someone got my code from ideone, I tested it there but didn't know that the code was public, I was less experienced. 2. The second time, I would say that it was partly my fault, I left my laptop open and someone took the code, which I came to know about after plagiarism detection.

But I did not intend to cheat or help someone cheat. I too believe that learnings matter more than anything.

I have recently seen plenty of posts about cheating and I am curious to know why do people really care about others cheating in CF or on other platforms where people just practice? Codeforces prevent from massive cheating , and isn't it enough for you? and what will happen to you if a few contestants in thousands somehow cheat ( I neither mean cheating is good nor justify those people who cheat )? If you really think it affects you than you are probably going the wrong way (at least I think so). I personally do not really care about it, and I don't really imagine how it can affect me. Sorry for subjective opinion.

Sorry for Whatever I did. The reason why I did this was because me and my friend wanted to get feature to Create Groups ( So that we can organize practice contest among ourselves ). I was not expecting that people will make so many Fake Accounts just to post this blog and abuse me in my inbox just for a practice round. I have never boasted about my ratings or about my programming skills on any platform or even on any public group. Also I saw many people people were using this blog to target Indians. Just I want to bring this in notice of everyone that ratings are just a virtual parameter to motivate us to practice more not to attack each other and develop hate among ourselves. Once Again Sorry !!

It's a privilege you earn by becoming a Candidate Master or above. Either work hard, and gain the privilege or use mashups in the time being. Cheating can never be justified.

One high rated guy is enough to make groups to practice together, this is not at all a genuine reason to cheat in a contest.
