whichever looks easier to do. for example in cf #645, D was kinda straightforward but cancer to implement whereas C was really easy to implement but the solution was hard to come up with

Yes, at first i thought this time i will be able to solve D but may be i still have to work on implementation .

Generally 90% of the times A and B will be easier. So solve them first. Then later solve the remaining problems in the order of accepted submissions. If more people solved that question, obviously you should solve them first. But most of the times, I would do the problems in the given order.

It's not exactly the best strategy, because many people solve problems starting on A, than B, and so on.

first solve A and B ... it gives confidence for further problems.

i dont know what is good for you but some GMs in codeforces solve the problem C first then B and then A and then the rest of the problems because the penalty after this is lower than the solving A, B, C but you have to solve problem C as fast as you can solve problem A

I start with A and B, by the time I'm done with these, many have already solved upto D, based on the number of AC in the contest dashboard, I decided which one to solve next.
