How to upsolve?

I wanted to ask how should one upsolve if one is not able to get the idea from the editorial. Searching through the comments has become very difficult these days as the number of comments are enormous. What are the other ways in which one could upsolve?

          And then try even more. Eventually you would get accepted.
          And you are solving <= 1500 level problems which is enough for now. If your rating goes up, then upgrade the range. If you go down, downgrade the range.

              You would get that later. For now, just think a redcoder advised this so it's correct.
              I know it's tough to concentrate on a problem for a long time but improving is also tough. If you face difficulties even after trying for 1+ hour, then you can leave that. But make sure you get back to that problem after some days

                I think majority of the good coders say invest ~30 min for a problem and then go for taking hints in editorial. Anyways I don't like erichto's advice.

                  I don't. If I can't solve a problem I'll put it on the back burner and come back another day. You'd be surprised how much that helps. And when I do decide to read the editorial I only read until the first sentence that contains new information.

                  Ny the way, what is "majority of good coders" based on?

                  You don't like -is-this-fft advise, you don't like Errichto advise, then you can surely do all things on yourself. Don't ask advise then

if you can't understand the editorial means you were very far from the solution. leave it for once think more and then come later to this problem again, maybe you'll solve it.

and if still not then see other solutions and try to understand why you had not thought this way.

      leaving for now and coming back again tomorrow won't create a backlog, unless you won't come back tomorrow.

          The problem stays in your subconscious mind. try it once, you'll get to know it yourself :) But if you're really blank about the problem than its better to study the topic the problem is based upon and then come back.
