I joined the Codeforces community way back last year as a newbie but since then, I've been unable to do any kind of significant progress in the Codeforces contests. Unfortunately, I've been unable to develop logical intuition for almost all kind of problems in Codeforces. I'm only able to do the first A level problems and that also not always. Can anyone suggest any kind of roadmap or necessary tips which can help me enhance my quality as a decent problem solver in Codeforces? Also suggest how to improvise myself as far as logical thinking is concerned? Any tips and suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

As per your submission graph, it doesn't seem that you have put in a lot of effort you've just solved 150+ 800 rated question which isn't of much use Keep Practising.

As I were a newbie. I tried to solve many 800-1200* implementations problems

  • For the first 5 problems, it takes me averagely hours

  • For the first 20 problems, it takes me averagely under a hour

  • For the first 50 problems, it takes me averagely under 30 minutes -> A solvable during Div 2

  • For the first 200 problems, it takes me averagely under 10 minutes -> A-B solvable during Div 2

  • And now, for about 500 problems, it should take me averagely 3-5 minutes if I am rushing in a contest (But I shouldnt hurry a minute to lose more point)

You should learn implementation first then your learning of algos will be easier ^^ But dont implement something too hard above far of your level (because you will learn nothing more then a bunch of debugging)

you should also tell about yourself to get good advice like which grade are you in, how good are you in maths etc. And just practice problems regularly above your rating like 1100-1400. You might not see good result for a long time but ultimately you will become better as you learn more and more new tricks and someday you will see that the problem in a contest uses the same trick that you have already seen.
