Hello Codeforces Community !!

I became Candidate Master for the first time in January 2020. But I spent 2020 unable to make the transition to Div.1

I have been looking at some rating graphs lately to get an ideia of the time it takes to make this transition. I noticed a lot of people get stuck in this rating as well so I decided to write this blog.

I noticed most Masters usually spend a year to make the transition from High Expert to Master.

Could you please tell us how this transition happened for you ?

If you have some other blog post or resource to share, feel welcome to do so as well. Thanks for reading.

Overused advice, but I think one of the best ways is just to do Div. 1 virtual contests and upsolve afterwards, or try to target problems that are quite a bit harder than your current rating, like 300 above, or even more.

I have read a bunch of them. Most questions are “How to become red?” and most answers are from red coders. In my opinion we can have a more specific and productive discussion if we focus on a specific rating range. I also wanted to hear from people who struggled to transition to Div.1 instead of people who aced it with more ease.

I don't know exactly but I think you must practise to become a CM.
