TinderForces — A Codeforces Matchmaking Service

Given the fact that Codeforces users seem to be interested in dating other competitive programmers, I am planning to make a new service — TinderForces. We will match users according to rating/rating preferences(and maybe location unless you're okay with long distance relationships?).

Everybody seems to want a CP Boyfriend/Girlfriend, but there was a lot of conflicting advice in the comments of the posts (Example ). Do any of you have any suggestions?

In the mean time, I've created a short survey to test this out(TinderForces beta :p). Please fill it out if you're interested in being matched! (All questions are optional).

(Note that you have to be >=18 to use TinderForces)

That sounds like a really cool experiment, though I think we are going to run out of unmatched girls very quickly :)

I want to make a betting site for Codeforces blogs. You bet on whether the author is trolling or serious.

For this one, I honestly can't tell.

Can you explain how people will be matched together?

Another issue is that we don't have a way to input our own gender. Do you assume everyone filling out the form is straight?

    Initially I thought that I'd assume that everyone's straight, but 90% of people who want a boyfriend are male, so I'm probably going to have to figure out a person's gender from their cf handle(I'll message them if I'm unsure)

      That's a conditional probability and without male:female ratio it doesn't tell anything.

Literally no girl in CS/CP would do this knowing the community -sincerely, Cs/CP girls

        I haven't really seen people being mean in CP discord servers. Everyone is cool and helpful. And I use a lot of reddit, so trust me. CP has one of the best communities out there.

You should match make by coding style. Show a selected snippet of someone's code so others can swipe left or right on it based on how good the style looks to them.

Update: I would really like to thank the codeforces community for their overwhelming support! We've got over 200 responses — we've already made our first few matches. Unfortunately, due to the large number of males looking for a girlfriend, if you're a guy and you're looking for a girlfriend, you'll have to wait.

However we've made numerous (male-male) matches. If you're male and you were looking for a boyfriend, you'll be messaged soon — look out for it!

Edit: I'm only allowed to message 2 distinct recipients a day, so this is going to take a while :(

"Have you recently been broke up"

and preferably keep this criteria too "Are you ok with recently broken boy/girl"
