In today's contest, I had to wait for long time in the submission queue only to find out that the WA was occuring due to not using 64 bit integer and I'm now wondering if the submission queues are faster on the lightweight sites?

I don’t think so. Lightweight sites are “light” in terms of the HTML/CSS/JavaScript that the server has to generate. These files are downloaded in your browser and are very minimal when you are using the lightweight sites in comparison to the main website. When you submit a code it probably is checked on the same set of servers regardless of which website you are using to submit it.
