Hi everyone,
Around 12 months back I had joined Scaler academy a upskill program in India which teaches you data structure, algorithms. It also guarantees to get a job beyond the promised min ctc(mine was around 140k INR).
Even though the curriculum is great, the teachers are knowledgeable, the price I would have to pay is just outrageous for the following reasons.
Before getting into scaler I already had solved around 400+ questions on Leetcode.
The startup they made me join from scaler was very early stage, I couldn't bring myself to work on weekdays and weekends without break and I had to resign them on health reasons.
After the startup I was on 3 months of career break, which caused me huge financial loss.
I got the new job without any help from their end.
Now how is this justified that I pay them 4 lakhs? is there a way around?
They are threatening me with legal proceedings. Anyone else faced the same?
Update: Ok, so looked for some options and I don't think I have a choice. I have agreed to pay, one of the reasons being I don't want some legal cases to show up in my background cases in the future and ruin opportunities. Peace.
For those who are going to take up scaler courses, think about it, Scaler is the best when it comes to curriculum, but I am not sure if I could justify paying 4lakhs to it. Don't be so shortsighted as me :)
There was someone who posted the same thing here on cf(I don't remember the name or handle). He too had to pay around the same price but by some jugaad, he didn't pay the money. You can contact him to know what he did.

I think you shouldn't have joined it in the first place. You must have read their terms and conditions. You also know the amount you need to pay after you get a job. now saying that I did it on my own is just a little .... But yeah whatever you are saying is also true they just need money. there are some blogs on codeforces, their authors might help but they also created blog with fake account just like you did, chances are low that they will respond.
