Hello Guys, I am doing cp for 6 month past and at that time i solved 200+ problem and at that time i am able to solve 1400-1500 level question after some emergency i quit cp and since last month i start again and not able to think solution of Problem A. I am also in 3rd year starting(India — CSE).

So how can i come back? Where should i do practice? also in some last day, i felt fear to give contest because i am not able to or some time solve only A question in long time.

Please give some advice how can i move on of this problem.

ps: this is not my real id :)

Missing out the solution to a DIV2A, here and there, is not a big deal because they are mostly based on a single insight, so if you missed 1-2 problem A in a row, don't feel disheartened as you might just be in your original form. However, it might be the case that you are a little bit out of form but if you start your streak again you will regain where you left in barely any time.

There's also a trick, which is actually abused by some contestants to avoid dropping their rating. If you have no idea how to solve problem A in the first 10 minutes of the contest, then not submitting any solutions and bailing out of the contest will make the system think that you haven't participated at all.

Someone with low esteem may think "A high percentage of very low ranked participants have successfully solved problem A, but I can't. There's something wrong with me." But nope, the statistics is partially skewed by those, who are gaming the system.

This is very comman , even Blues and Purples (Cant say anything about Orange and Red ones) become Out of Practice , if they left CP for Sometime, So no need to Worry , You can always come back , start practising now and you ll have a great contest ahead.

I did not take a single CP for 2 months, and my last contest was -73. I'm not sure if this can be attributed to lack of practice, but it definitely seems like a real possibility. Especially because I was pretty quick to solve the easy problems (A,B), and got WA on C,D.

Shift to an alt, like I did, like you did to write this post xD
I am a Candidate master on original account, Now I cant solve Div2 C :)
Cant rank up to a expert.

I think speed becomes an issue, it should return after giving some contests!

Did you create alt out of fear of losing candidate master?

No, This alt was created years ago, for reasons i don't remember. Did I shift to alt for fear of losing Candidate master? No i already lost it! (after a year long break) Why then? Because now i cannot sit for two complete hours in a contest! i just leave after an hour! Sometimes i sit for first half hour, go for dinner sit for last half hour. If i start competing with my full power again, i will switch to original account

Isn't this against the rules? The terms of agreement box when registering for a contest says "will not use multiple accounts and will take part in the contest using your personal and the single account."

Or do people generally interpret this clause as if it's okay to have multiple accounts, as long as only one of them is used to submit solutions during each particular contest?

if you are unable to, say, maintain candidate master, then is there any point in switching to an alt, just so you can let the handle stay at candidate master? seems stupid and short-sighted to me

damn true...i also took a break from cp and it took much time to get back into the previous flow...maybe you need to start practicing easy problems again then start increasing the difficulty level of the problems...(actually it is now working for me)... :)
