whenever i attend a contest,i like to see the standings.i always ask myself, how can i solve that fast?.i always see people explaining their ideas.but i rarely see people explain why he/she chose that idea in that contest instead of others.i think whenever u solve problems,u ask ur self what to do in this kind of problem.what is the first question to ask to urself when solving problems?

ive seen those blog and they all discuss about panicking in a contest or something like psychological effect.my problem here is that what do people think after reading the problem the first time.like i wonder what people think about math puzzles.they dont have a concrete formula yet they solve it like there is some kind of trick that most people dont know.thats what im asking for,the trick and their way of thinking.

There are no simple tricks or some hidden knowledge.

You solve solve solve and your brain eventually starts picking up patterns and clues about what problems require what approaches.

Don't try to figure out some concrete algorithm of "how to approach problems", just practice a ton and properly, and your brain will eventually do that for you automatically.

There is no single way of thinking that everybody uses, it is not like some school exam that u just memorize things and write it in the exam. U have to practice a lot of questions, to make your brain recognize certain things like patterns, standard ideas applicable to certain problems, you have to make your brain recognize hidden ideas in the problem. Simply u have to practice soo much that u get the intution to the solution just by reading the problem or by writing it down and trying some approaches for few mins. It seems very difficult at the beginning but if u continue u will get used to it. Sometimes it happens that during the contest I get an idea and I code it and it works, but I dont even completely understand why it works, I just feel it logically should , and mostly it does.
