What to do when you understand and solve a tricky question by reading editorial but after sometime when you come across the same question, you are not able to solve it !!.

I am sure that this happens with many people as some of my friends have also reported this. Now i want a solution to this problem.

Whats the best way to revise these problems. Ofcourse i can same them somewhere along with my approach but if i keep saving question like this, there will be hundreds of them.

Not sure whats the correct way. Would love to see some suggestions.

You don't solve a question by reading the editorial. The editorial is a tool you use when you give up. The creative process requires hard thinking, and THIS is how you learn concepts — you experiment with them or come up on your own. When you recognize a problem which sounds familiar to something you've already done, you recall your thinking process, not somebody's words from the editorial. Make sure you implement the idea at least, simply reading doesn't get you anywhere.

You probably got me wrong there. I meant that after understanding the problem by reading the editorial, I always write the code and submit it.

You probably got me wrong there. You should avoid looking at the editorial unless you feel completely stuck for a while. Solve the problems primarily yourself, it will pay off.

When you look at the editorial, the largest intellectual value of that problem for you is irrevocably lost. If you do read, and there is some technique you didn't kbow beforehand, try to solve similar problems using this technique YOURSELF (up to the point where YOU came up with 2-3 solutions using that technique on your own).

That being said, I was beginner like 9 years ago so may not remember what it feels like...

There are times which I remember the editorial's general idea and try to recreate it.
