hello community. Since a long time I was thinking about this but now i have decided to write a blog on it and your views are welcomed. In Codechef I have seen a very unusual thing that is every problem have same point that is 100 or sometimes 1 point which is not fair.let us understand with an example given below. . there are two person say bob and alice giving div2 contest. bob has solved div2A question in 15 minutes and alice have solve directly div2C in 15 minutes so technically alice rank should be better then bob rank because alice has solved a problem which is harder then bob solved the problem but the reason is every problem has same points so that means either you solve first question or last question you will be judged only on time.

In codeforces contest(excluding div3 and educational round) every problem have points like div2A has 500 , div2B has 1000 and so on. so if anyone solve div2C in 15 minutes he/she will be having more points and offcourse his rank will be better then anyone who has solved div2A.

so codechef should also giving points on problem so if anyone solve hard problem early would have much much better rank.

what are your views community. please let me know? please do some needfull Um_nik antontrygubO_o

Auto comment: topic has been updated by adviser (previous revision, new revision, compare). While it's not a bad idea most of us has made peace with it.

Isn't that the general ICPC/IOI pattern(Also followed in codeforces educational rounds).

It is common to misjudge the order of difficulties of some problems but easier to categorize in atleast what division it should fall.

It's what make it different from codeforces/atcoder.

Imagine you solved div2A,div2b and div2D and someone solved div2A,div2B and div2C and has better rank then you just because he has solve problem early then you but you weren't able to do C but you managed to do D question and naturally you would think that your rank should be better then him.so this situation hurts many. if all are scoring 90% in exam then we score 40% in exam then its not unique its just stupid. take every contest : kickstart, codejam, hackercup, atcoder, leetcode, codeforces every one have points on questions while codechef don't so.......

now Imagine you solved div2A,div2B,di2C,div2D and someone speedforces div2A,div2B,div2C and has better rank?

exactly this is the only problem. in codeforces just do div2E or div2F problem in contest then also your rank would be much much better then anyone who even though have solved A,B,C question.

in short : tough problem should have more points.

firstly they should appoint different points for each problem

even the most difficult one is marked 100, same as the first one then the ranking would make more sense

exactly buddy, this is the thing i am talking about. codechef should give points like 100,200,300,400 and so on.

Imagine creating an account just to post a blog

Imagine no one coming with this username in 11 yrs
