Nitin Singh Rawat, Haldwani, India

From Lovely Professional University

has been cheating in codeforces for 9 months.

Nitin Singh Rawat aka nitin_05 once was a kind little boy. He had fun just by participating in competitions. Back then, his rating was under 1100, but he was happy with it.

Spoiler

But in his 13rd contest in May 28, he couldn't overcome the temptation of the devil and decided to cheat.

Although he got caught and his submissions were skipped, He couldn't forget the pleasure of solving Problem C for the first time in his life.

For the next 4 contests, he studied ways to avoid plagiarism check by cheating in different ways. like

adding useless instructions
changing variables to his name

but it all failed..

Spoiler

But finally, He realized the way to avoid plagiarism tests. And after that, he kept cheating and he became pupil, and then specialist, and finally he became expert!!

When he became expert, he was so proud of it so he even posted in his LinkedIn account!

Without knowing that he was doing something wrong, he just thought others were jealous of him being an expert.

Everyone would be happy if he just stoped at this point... but he got greedier and he didn't stoped cheating after he became expert.

they say An evil deed will be discovered. and Nitin Singh Rawat was finally banned from codeforces by continuos cheating. (you can see that by the absence of Talks, Send message buttons)

I heard that in India, your codeforces ratings are important when getting jobs (I don't know why). So I feel little sorry to Nitin Singh Rawat for inturrupting his Livelihood. But you should at least play fair in competitions.

I want to say sorry for all of you who was annoyed by my repeated comments accusing nitin_05 as a cheater. And I will stop spamming because I've finally achieved my goal.

BYE BYE Nitin Singh Rawat !!

DON'T COME BACK !!

2 things

1) "I heard that in India, your codeforces ratings are important when getting jobs (I don't know why)". You make it sound like you are not Indian at all, but the effort you have put in this post signals to me that you knew the guy personally.

2) this is a very high effort post lol. Why waste this much time?

I appreciate your work but you can't simply generalise it to the point of accusing all Indians of cheating. I saw your comments and some of them are very outrageous (even your username). Not all Indians are like this guy. I am Indian and not aware of a single job that you can get simply by showing your codeforces rating, you always have to clear a coding test and an interview. This doesn't mean what Nitin has done is right but you as well are making irrational comments.

I am sure that you are Indian and you know him. You have posted a screenshot of his Hindi comments and it is pretty obvious that you understand what he has written. It seems you and Nitin were on the same level but he started cheating and you got jealous. You as well should be ashamed of yourself for stereotyping Indians for cheating

Bro, but the comment is not fare blaming the whole country for this is not good. Respect for my nation name is my first pride and the way you are saying is not good.

You can write like :- I hate cheaters and most of them are from India

This sentence will have different impact

Being a honest Indian I knew the hype and cheating in CP in India but you can write like these are cheaters. In India there is a phrase :- " Koi insaan apne karmo se bda aur chota hota hai naki uske janamsthal ya naam se".

Means one can be a cheater or legend by his/her bad works/good works, his/her birth place or anything cannot be blamed for this.

It is just disappointing that people actually care so much about stuff like this. Even though what he did was wrong why do we have the temptation to poke our nose into everything? has it just become so normal to slander people online that people write blogs about it now? Its tough to mind your own business i guess.

Suppose that in Indian, rating in codeforces is important for a job but why someone need to cheat, because when someone cheat, when them go working, their company can see their fake programming skill, and them will be fired, in my country, it will be included to the blacklists, and it hard to find a new job for the fake skill. ( Sorry for my bad English )

You just made an account with the name "Indians Cheating", solved only 2 problems. Looks like your only motive to even join codeforces was to investigate him and blame all Indians. You probably knew him. But you are not that better in my eyes, because you are blaming every Indian for cheating with your name like that. You probably are an Indian too(from your photo, don't know if you'll change it in future)..I feel like you were also one of the people who was jealous of him. Although you did good by making this post, but I am getting the vibe like you didn't do it for the codeforces community or fairness, just to laugh at him. Please don't keep a name like that. I am working hard to increase my level, knowledge, skill. I also come in Indian people and I don't cheat.

I'm surprised that all the people who said that I was jealous of him were Indians.

Is that the reason why most of the cheaters are actually Indians? Because they feel jealous of cheaters?

And I don't understand why many Indians think that I am also an Indian.. I made this account because I was so sick and tired of watching cheaters and I saw many of them were Indians.

Hey OP, I think there's clear evidence that you knew this Nitin personally, and are just trying to rub/expose what he did in his face, even after he's been banned. I remember back in my youthful days (as in middle school days), when I would rub/expose what some of my friends did on some online math or computer science forum. Indeed, that was very childish (with no harm intended, fortunately) of me, but what you're doing right now is simply mind-blowing, considering how much of a high-effort post this is just to get your point across.

It's also clear, by your grammar and reply styles, that you're Indian. One thing Indians like to use is all capital letters in parts they want to emphasize. Additionally, you seem to use two periods for your ellipsis, followed by spaces before your punctuation. Also a very common mistake.

In any case, that's besides the point. What you're doing right now is borderline harassment for someone who has already took the punishment for what he did. Now... I am not Indian at all, but trust me, I am an expert on India.

Ultimately, we shouldn't simply call out a whole country of people for cheating, since it's clearly not the case, and there's definitely some bias (e.g. population size, competitiveness, etc.). There may be some fundamental reasons for this, say, from this page: https://www.dailyo.in/variety/scams-nirav-modi-rotomac-fodder-scam-pnb-22537; however, in the end, we should all be respectful to one another. Indians_cheating, I urge you to stop this exposure of people you don't necessarily vibe with in real life. The people who are truly zen are able to acknowledge the imperfection in society (i.e. the existence of cheating), yet continue to do their own thing to improve day-by-day, rather than exposing others (and seeming to gain utility from putting down others). Thanks.

And that's my TED talk folks.

-- On a related note, I urge everyone out there who's considering to cheat, ask yourselves why? Why would you do it just for some internet points, leading to yourself thinking you're a better programmer than you truly are.

I sometimes wonder if it's possible to have a world where no-one cheats, but I guess, in some sense it's game theoretically impossible. After all, no one would in fact be in Nash equilibrium, as they could "gain more utility" by cheating. We should ideally hope for for a world where this "utility" gained by cheating is 0, or negative. Then, no-one cheating would truly be a Nash equilibrium. But, alas...

Utility gained by cheating has always been negative, Nash equilibrium assumes that each player is omniscient and can perceive the utility as the true value. Unfortunately, we are far from the classic "Alice and Bob are playing a game... ...It is known that both players play the game optimally."

Even in India, codeforces rating doesn't matter for getting job. I have given few interviews and no one gave a single F about my rating. Skills are important. They ask DSA questions and you should be able to solve it.

People are overeating the CF rating. Skills matter in interview
