Hello Codeforces!! I was feeling very low that's why i want to ask you how do you manage frustration and pressure during the contest?? I still do not participate in real contest but taken part in virtual contests. when i do not able to solve a problem in first or second try i become nervous and ended up with the contest on a low note and this is influencing my practice sessions as well. I want to participate in ICPC this year but due to these kind of feelings i am not able to concentrate on my goals. I also take a few breaks but still this is happening again and again. Also, i do not have any friends with the same goal so i can not share my feelings with anyone that's why i am asking it here..I really wants to qualify for ICPC regionals this year onwards. Can anyone please help me in coping from this situation and give advice how should i proceed furthur to achieve my goals??

P=F/A, so you can decrease it by reducing F, or increasing A

I guess the equation does make sense here too lol

What is F though? How much you care about rating?

I don't care much about rating but feel depressed when I see someone of same level as mine perform better than me

That's basically the same, just without the number.

You shouldn't be depressed when someone performs better than you in a contest, it should be a reason for you to train harder so you can perform better. That's what competitive programming is all about, fail and train harder until you succeed.

You have to give time, practice and improve. I am not at a great level right now myself, but once I was at newbie as well. You have your ratings drop, inability to solve some classical/basic questions, when you perform good you see the whole world performing good thus making your good an average. There are many scenarios where you feel like giving up. But remember the reason we do programming, because we love that Accepted sign, we love our server being used by people in real life, I mean it is the most thrilling thing we have in our life (atleast for me). Programming is not only about the result, the experience of journey has its own flavor. Participate in more and more contests. If you are working hard on competitive there is no way that you won't improve.

All the best.

Yesterday, I did 2 contests. In both, I was under time pressure, acted really fast and almost solved something. Is that bad because almost or good because I was able to really push myself under pressure?
