The website is down for like 2 days in India now, is it down everywhere? Does someone know what happened?
Edit: According to the sources in comments, binarysearch is shut down now. It's really sad for everyone, hopefully something works out and the website comes back again!
Yes,its down from 2 days. Anybody having any idea when will it be up??
I tried pinging the co-founder on LinkedIn, but no reply yet
The site is binarysearch.io, not binarysearch.com . Answering your question, no idea, but i hope it will get back up
My browser history has .com in it.
Can you stop providing inaccurate information? it's not .io, it is .com
It used to be .io and they changed it to .com. I believe he just hasn't been using it for a while, or didn't notice the change at all.
the site is down and done for good. the developers of the site were not able to keep up with the expenses of the website. it is gone now.
Means it will never be up? How do you know? All our practice and questions done will be in vain now?
) i'm not sure if it will ever be up again, they were talking about how the site is making them losses for quite some time now.
) it was all on the binarysearch general page and discussions were going on about how there aren't anymore contests, and about them planning to remove certain features, like removing old chats etc. to be honest, it's not even a surprise that site went down. only thing is all this happened abruptly. Moreover, qiqi_impact and midnight_simon are 2 twitch streamers who solve binarysearch.com problems, the community there confirmed that the site is done and dusted. the community seems large enough to trust this news.
) and most probably yes, all the practice questions and the streak is now in vain.
-> they did talk about maintaining a repo for all the questions and even giving away some level of the codebase, but i'm not sure where is all of that.
Thanks for the update. I have my upcoming interviews ,don't know how will I revise.
all the best! hopefully you'll make it through :)
That's really sad. I loved coding on that platform and found great mentors as well :(
Hope it will be up sooner or later. Miss it pretty bad
Are there any websites similar to Binary Search where can we make rooms to solve questions with friends?
No.
Actually there's baekjoon with the "group" feature
The room functionality allowed you to live-spectate what other people were coding (assuming they were writing code in the built-in editor.) and this was a big part of why the site was so popular, because no other site really implemented this well.
BOJ groups seem roughly the same as CF groups, for what that's worth.
I do not have a local backup of my editorials posted at BinarySearch. How sad! Can anyone contact the site owner? I really want my data (editorials, solutions...).
What is that exactly? Can you explain further?
Were you using the rooms feature? How did you like it?
https://leetrooms.com/
Feeling so sad to hear this news. Have been enjoying it for so long. Hate to say goodbye to my 500+ days streak.
wow! it's such a shame you can't even showcase the green wall in your hall of fame... i was on 120 day streak.. never in my life i did something so consistently and with dedication.
I also had a streak of more than 300 days and solved over 450+ questions. Now I can't even show that to anyone. That's too bad for me.
oh damn, i wanted to solve all the questions.. after finishing leetcode. damn whats wrong?
i miss this website, the interface. pls get it back!
can we somehow migrate it?
Server costs. If you pay for them, yes I am sure they can migrate it, even under your name.
mail id of founder or co-founder?
RIP binarysearch.com
Solving problems on binary search was really fun, you were practicing on leetCode and on binary search you find problems easy as you have already solved them or the** confidence you get that you 'll.**
Unfortunately thought of solving some problem there but then visiting the site from past 2 days and then I got to know here :)
Well didn't know will it be back or not but friends 5 codes Now
Is there any coding platform has this kind of features like coding with friends in a room??
I really liked using Binarysearch.io It was my top/fav website for coding practice.
what is binarysearch.com?
it used to be an interview preparation platform similar to leetcode where one can practice solving coding problems that may have been asked in coding interviews earlier. It was also famous for strenghtening DSA concepts.
ok thanks a lot!!!
I'll add that the main draw of it IMO was that you could basically do multiplayer leetcode with friends where you set up a lobby and you could do a live competition with friends.
ok, thanks
www.codebattle.in Check this out
Hello guys, Checkout https://www.linked-list.co.in and create rooms to solve DSA problems with your friends. Hope to see ya there!
leetcode and code interview problems are shit, why not just create mashups in codeforces?
