Hi every codeforces users ... Today I saw something that really made me sad ... I saw an application that let the ukrainian people recognize the russian products and the reason that this application is made is to make ukrainian people don't communicate with dear russian people and forget russia .. But today I want to say that all of ukrainian and russian people should be united and don't let the war make a wall between them , their minds , they fellings and so many other things that I can't mension here ...

NOTICE : i just wrote this entry to remind all peoples to be with each other be united and don't think that the communication ways between ukrainian and russian people can be this simply ruined :)

Wish luck for all of you dear friends ...

I think there is some misunderstanding here. That app is that not in order to stop communication in any way, it's there to allow them to distinguish Russian products in order to stop supporting Russian economics. As far as I know it has nothing to do with people.

Russian, who lived in Ukraine and willing to return there.

Ok, but there are hidden implications. In order to have Ukrainian people stop supporting Russian economics, you need to create an atmosphere of hate — people won't do it just because they can, right?

All I'm saying is that there is a difference between Russian people and how Russia behaves with regards to its neighbours. You can hate the latter one without going down on a people level, there's no need to mix it altogether.

I don't think it's that easy. Imagine telling someone "I don't hate you, but I hate your country". Even worse if it starts with "our countries hate each other, so...".

Well, I'm Russian and do you believe I would be glad you tell me "I just hate Russia, nothing personal!"

And to make things more complicated mind that I am ethnic Ukrainian. I am significantly worried about the future of the Ukraine (moreover that I have relatives there), but none the less I support Russia's actions in this strange conflict.

So the matter is quite complicated to say the least.

Well, at least they have a choice. Unlike people in Russia which has outright banned many Ukrainian products.

which ones? if you're talking about Roshen chocolates, the ban happened in mid-2013 so it's unrelated to current politics.

You know, if some f***ers interpret all your nation as fascists, annex one part of your territory and terrorize another, you'll hate them a lot without any additional push.

Do not panic!

I currently work in team with 8 Ukrainians (mostly from Lviv, Kiev and Kharkiv) — I am the only Russian on the project... To add to the story the company is US-based at all (though we are working from Ukraine and Russia respectively).

And it is not the unique case. Far not unique.

So you see, things are bit different compared to what is going on the CNN :)

Today, this is a problem in Ukraine, but not between Russia and Ukraine. Some people support this app (and similar apps), some don't, because they remember, that was exactly the same in Germany in 1933-35, and they fear similar future.

But, almost all people in Ukraine (and in Russia too) are not intrested in politics. And continue live as before.

I think in the end everything will be fine between Russians and Ukrainians. Current events are difficult to explain and analyze, I can't agree with many things told on TV or posted by both Ukrainians and Russians. I think that Russian involvement is overestimated (like your use of word "war" probably coming from BBC news :( ), but I don't want to argue about that. I hope it (whatever it is) settles and situation in Ukraine will improve.

I am very happy to see people from both countries collaborating at this website. Thanks to Creator (MM) for making this website which helps to unite people through competition.

On a side note, I find it funny that some people need special app to read bar codes. At least country piece of it is easily recognizable. Muggles :)

P.S. Just for the record — my mother is from Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and my father is from Voroshilovgrad (Luhansk). I have relatives in both cities.

Don't wanna to argue about politics. But why do I need some kind of special application to recognize russian products? Why can't I just look at first numbers of a barcode?
