Hello,

I'd like to start this post off by saying that I made a mistake. I am a frequent user of Ideone and I accidentally created a public paste during a contest, allowing dobby28 to copy my code. This was my mistake and I won't let it happen again.

Furthermore, I respect anyone who puts an honest foot forward to improve, whether they're gray or red. However, dobby28 has been consistently (if you look at his submissions) copying code from others and submitting it. Why is he (and others like him) unbanned? It's clear he's not trying in competitions, but rather just cheating to achieve a higher rating.

Being A Frequent User Can you feel why coders prefer online editors such as ideone instead of offline editors? Like what are the benefits and if some people are using, then they are making it public and how anyone can randomly access the codes?

I use ideone basically every contest and for all my practice. This matters much less for contests, but I prefer it because I often transfer between computers, some without ides (such as school computers), and sometimes even my phone (obviously no ide), but I still like to practice when I can on all of them. So I then write my code on an online ide such as ideone because it is so much easier to transfer code and pull it up in a minute in any online environment. I then got used to using it and now also use it in contests, since I like the environment and am familiar with it, just it is important to always sign in and make codes private.

Hmm But it doesn't make sense, how someone can randomly access codes, if I remember URL is required to see the code in ideone/pastebin

On ideone there is a "recent code" tab. If you didn't make your code private, anyone can just keep clicking links on there throughout the contest until you find one that solves a problem.

Try cpp.sh or tio.run instead, it's slightly harder for such things to happen since the code is private by default (I think). Also they are way better than ideone anyway, so it's not a loss at all.

If you are going to use an online IDE use judge IDE. Why can't you use VSCode or sublime text like most of us?

Look at my previous blog entries, I am planning on it.

Plus, that's not the problem here. I already acknowledged my mistake. The point is it makes no sense for dobby28 to remain unbanned.
