Last day another cheating case got my attention.

In codeforces, we are here mostly to learn and practice problem-solving. What is the benefit of such a rating increase, if you did not earn it yourself? Where is the honor in that!!! It's not like in an interview, you will be passed, just because you have a good rating. You will be asked questions, what will you do then!!!

Codeforces might introduce a Hall of Shame list. If someone is caught in such cheating cases, their profiles may be archived, so that the cheaters can not delete their profile and displayed in the "Hall of Shame" profile. Codeforces can level these profiles as bad practitioners/cheaters.

However, some hard steps are needed to be taken, maybe then these kinds of cheating will be reduced.

I don't side with the cheaters , but the ones who get wrongly accused and detected like the case of Flower_On_Stone , where even a grandmaster vouched for his innocence ....

I believe that an honest and hardworking person getting punished for what he never did is worse than a cheater punished lightly

I understand your point. @knowledgeIsMine I understand there will be problems. This is a topic for discussion. It would be better if you gave your view from your real account such as mine. But what I don't understand is why people are hiding behind new accounts to defend this topic!! I saw someone said higher-rated coders don't care about it!! Isn't it more concerning that our search for excellence is surpassing our ethical thought!! I don't need to care that much about it either. I am a software engineer for a long time now. But today's generation thinking like that is really sad.

I think the only way to reduce cheating is codeforces to demand mobile phone numbers or even ID numbers from ID cards, but the latter is almost impossible

You guys are cyan, green and gray because

    1. Cheaters take your spot [30%]
    2. You worry a lot about cheaters, as a result, don't practice and that's why you suck. [70%]

You would never see a high rated coder ranting about cheating, funny isn't it?

It's good to have a good CF rating but I'm not in the category of people who only care about CF rating, you can look at my rating graph that I'm almost always pupil but still participate. I thank CF about giving the ability to learn, maybe, sometime, I will have a good rating.

      Actually, cheating is bad :)

On a more serious note, while cheating doesn't personally affect me, I think this comment encourages a very unhealthy mindset. It is true that cheating does not actually have that great of an influence on the ratings of individual users. However, actively discouraging people from pointing out cheating cases can lead people to believe that the community here condones (or even encourages) cheating. I'm not sure if that's the kind of image you're comfortable with, but I don't think many people like to be perceived as condoning cheaters. While I'm too busy to go looking through other people's submissions to find cheating cases, I think it is a good thing that some members of the community are willing to report such cases or come up with ideas to counteract this kind of thing, and we should not discourage them.

So code more, work harder, but if you find a cheating case, do not hesitate to report it somehow. Cheating is a serious issue and should not be brushed off or trivialised just because you are not personally impacted by it.

I think the best thing would be to create a new color for cheating accounts. After all, all this cheating is for a change of color isn't it? Would serve them right.
