I've been doing competitive programming for almost 2 and a half years now.But I seem to get nowhere. All my friends who started with me are miles ahead of me. It's getting more and more depressing day by day. I love to solve problems so I can't seem to convince myself to leave it all. But the pain is unbearable at this point.

So then, how should I do it ?

jumping of a high building seems too painful. I could try cutting my veins and bleeding out but that might take a lot of time so there is a possibility somebody will save me. I can't buy a gun so shooting myself is not an option. All things taken into consideration, i think poison would be the least painful way to end my suffering. Can anybody suggest me some poison which should kill me fast enough without causing too much pain ? also if you have any better idea feel free to share.

It's not worth taking extreme actions based on the internet points of yourself and your friends.

leave CP and probably try forgetting about it.

months or years later if you still haven't found a better hobby, if you can come to terms with your situation i.e you suck at CP.. you will probably be able to enjoy it better.

or a better alternative is to take a year-long break or longer from giving contests.

What is your goal?

1) To be better than your friends? -- Do something your friends don't do. You will automatically be better in that field after a dedicated period.

2) To be better at CP? -- If you enjoy solving problems then you will eventually get better. If you don't get better, either you are lying to yourself or you are doing something wrong, looking at the editorials instead of giving enough time, not concentrating on the thought process rather just blindly accept the solution as some kind of brain-trick/magic/lucky observation and move on etc. etc.

3) To be better at CP and be better than your friends? -- Stop lying to yourself.
